That's all from me on a long Sunday - and a long weekend - in the Premiership. In summary. .. The Old Firm got the day under way at noon, but troubled Rangers and Celtic failed to find their way to goal and you can read Kheredine Idessane's match report and Tom English's analysis of that. Dundee United won the second derby of the day, with Jack Herrall giving his thoughts. Tyrone Smith was our man at Pittodrie as Aberdeen lost to Falkirk, while Andrew Petrie gave his impression of Hibs' draw with St Mirren. BBC Scotland's coverage of the Premiership is not quite over for the day, however, as Sportscene brings the highlights of today's games at 19: 15 on the BBC Scotland channel and 23: 45 on BBC One Scotland. Enjoy! FT: Hibernian 1-1 St Mirren Hibs head coach David Gray also talks about Elie Youan, the forward who was not in the squad today. "There's been talks about Elie's future, there's been communication and interest from a club, " he explains. "I don't know how that's progressing yet with the window so close. "I didn't want any distractions within the group today. That works for all parties involved. That might happen, it might not. " On interest in Scotland striker Lyndon Dykes, Gray adds: "It's a name that's been pushed forward a lot. I've made it clear we are in the market for a centre-forward if possible. He's still a Birmingham player. While the window is still open, there's many options we're looking at. " FT: Hibernian 1-1 St Mirren Hibernian head coach David Gray is happy that his side came from behind to take a point against St Mirren but thinks it could have been more. "We find ourselves a goal down, we have to settle with a point because at least the players fight right until the very end, " he tells BBC Scotland. "I feel, for us to keep improving, the game should be out of sight. The chances we missed first half, big moments in the game. If we take our chances and we're more clinical, it's a very different afternoon. "St Mirren are a constant threat, they're always in the game. We reacted well, pushed towards the very end. I can't fault the players' effort. Their character was tested again today and there's loads of positives to take from it. " FT: Aberdeen 0-1 Falkirk Not surprisingly perhaps given his side are at the foot of the Premiership, Jimmy Thelin is expecting "a busy transfer window deadline day". The Aberdeen boss adds: "We have a clear plan what we want to do. We have identified things we want to improve and we're working really hard so we'll see what happens. " FT: Aberdeen 0-1 Falkirk As manager Jimmy Thelin mentioned, his side have failed to score or win in their three Premiership matches this season and, being the worst record of all the teams, they are unsurprisingly rooted to the foot of the table. However, their top-flight woes are a continuation from last season. Aberdeen have now lost their last seven games in the Premiership - their longest losing streak in the competition for more than 10 years. FT: Aberdeen 0-1 Falkirk Aberdeen manager Jimmy Thelin tells BBC Scotland: The level we're performing right now in our calmness of play and decision making as a team is not good enough and that's my responsibility. We need to sit down now and find a way to win games. " On the red card for Nick Devlin, the Swede adds: "I haven't seen it yet. But it was a red card and it was then difficult for us to get a result - but we could've stayed in the game better. I think we can do better when we're a man down and try to keep a clean sheet. "It's small things and we have to make better decisions under pressure. That's the main thing for us just now. "We have no points and no goals. Some of the performances have been okay, but it's not good enough. " FT: Hibernian 1-1 St Mirren St Mirren manager Stephen Robinson tells BBC Scotland: "It was a terrific game of football, first and foremost. Both teams played some really good stuff. "I thought we created a few chances. Hibs created stuff as well. They were a big danger from set plays with their delivery and their height at the back. "But I thought we played really well, controlled the game at times, created numerous chances. Our final ball, pass and decision has let us down and we have to work on that. "If you don't take your opportunities, you're always liable and it could cost you three points, which it ended up doing. Overall, perhaps a draw is a fair result against a very good Hibs side. " FT: Aberdeen 0-1 Falkirk Falkirk match winger Kyrell Wilson tells BBC Scotland: "It couldn't have been better. "A perfect debut for me but for the team as well to get a first win on the board. " The 20-year-old signed on loan from Swansea and says: "It's a whirlwind. Scored on my debut so couldn't be happier. "I got a text on Monday and came straight down. I've done two sessions, but it's a good group of lads and I feel comfortable, so I didn't need much time. "Falkirk is a good side. The football suits my style so for me, it's the right choice. " FT: Hibernian 1-1 St Mirren St Mirren will probably leave Easter Road happy with a point to go three league games without defeat, but it means they have failed to win in six Premiership games - one short of their worst run ever. Hibs will maybe be unhappy with dropping two home points, but they are still now undefeated in five top-flight games and have scored in each of their latest seven. FT: Dundee 0-2 Dundee United Ivan Dolček's four Premiership goals makes the 26-year-old United winger the league's top scorer. The scorer of the second goal at Dens Park had seven goal attempts in the derby - the highest total for a player in a single Premiership game this season. Dolček looks to be a shrewd loan signing from Slovakian club Dunajská Streda. FT: Aberdeen 0-1 Falkirk John Mc Glynn pinpointed goalscorer Kyrell Wilson for praise. "He only arrived with us yesterday and goes on the park and gets a goal, " the Falkirk boss says of the on-loan Swansea winger. "He's brought enthusiasm and drive and reaped his rewards by getting a goal. "Delighted with the win. It's our first Premiership win and we now sit with a win, a draw and a defeat, and that's good enough in this league. The guys will take a lot of confidence and belief from that. " Mc Glynn reveals that he "would like to get another couple in" before the transfer window closes tomorrow night. Kyrell Wilson scored on his Falkirk debut FT: Aberdeen 0-1 Falkirk Falkirk manager John Mc Glynn tells BBC Scotland: "I'm absolutely delighted to come up here and get three points. Everyone is going back down to Falkirk very happy. "We had to hang in there in the first half. I thought Aberdeen played well, but we also defended well and created opportunities. "We had to dig in in the first half and we made the extra-man advantage count in the second half. I don't think the sending off was malicious, it was an honest attempt on the ball, but I haven't watched it back. "We showed good composure. Aberdeen set up very well and made it difficult for us, but we were persistent and kept at it. " FT: Dundee 0-2 Dundee United United won the Dundee derby comfortably despite their 10 goal attempts being their lowest total in a single match in the Premiership this season. Indeed, Jim Goodwin's side have scored in their latest five top-flight games. As Steven Pressley was saying, the hosts are having problems causing a goal threat, with on-loan Hearts midfielder Yan Dhanda's two shots against United being the joint-highest total for a Dundee player in the Premiership this season. FT: Dundee 0-2 Dundee United Dundee United manager Jim Goodwin: "We're delighted with the result, it's exactly what we wanted. "The clean sheet was really important as well. "I don't think we've defended terribly from open play up to now. Set plays have cost us in a number of the games that we've been involved in, but today we showed that over the last couple of weeks, with that break that we've had, we've been able to spend a bit more time on the training pitch and go through the shape of the team without the ball and obviously spent a lot of time working on our set-play set-up. "And today I thought the boys were excellent. "The overall performance was really pleasing from back to front. " FT: Dundee 0-2 Dundee United Dundee head coach Steven Pressley tells BBC Scotland: "From an offensive perspective, we certainly have to do better. We lacked, in the first half, a little bit of thrust. "We got a little bit more thrust in the second half, but our final pass, our final decision wasn't right. "And, over the course of the 90 minutes, we didn't deserve anything from the game. I'm aware of that. "We're at the early stages just now. We've improved a lot in our defensive actions, but now we have to improve in our offensive actions and we'll continue to work on that. We'll continue to strive to be better in that area, but we know that, we know, and it's finding the balance. " FT: Aberdeen 0-1 Falkirk Not only have Falkirk just recorded their first top-flight victory in 15 years but Scott Arfield played for the Bairns in both games. Since that 2-1 win over St Mirren on 10 April 2010, the 36-year-old midfielder has gone on to play for Huddersfield Town, Burnley, Rangers, Charlotte and Bolton Wanderers, not to mention Scotland B and Canada. Matthew Mac Dermid blows the full-time whistle! On the replay, it actually looked like there was another handball even before Jayden Richardson's. It's a messy, messy end to a brilliantly entertaining game. Miguel Freckleton's goal had St Mirren ahead on the hour before Rocky Bushiri bundled in the equaliser. Both sides had chances to win, but Hibs had the better quality of opportunities throughout. They'll feel more aggrieved to only have a point out of this. Rocky Bushiri (left) rescued a point for Hibs Hibernian 1-1 St Mirren Well, that doesn't look great for Jayden Richardson. Thibault Klidje hacks towards goal and the ball strikes at least one of Richardson's arms. It's very close to him. I've no idea if this will get given. Hibernian 1-1 St Mirren Hibs get a corner. It's swung into the box, it bounces awkwardly and there's a huge shout for handball! Matthew Mac Dermid hasn't given anything. .. yet. The referee's stopped play. It's NOT full-time. Hibernian 1-1 St Mirren Hibs launch a late counter attack through Thibault Kildje and he's into the box. The striker goes down! But it's a great tackle from Marcus Fraser. Nicky Devlin was dismissed in the first half at Pittodrie At a glance Nicky Devlin sent off before the break for tough tackle on Calvin Miller Momentum swings towards Falkirk, who net winner through substitute Kyrell Wilson Aberdeen stay bottom of the league on zero points. Newly promoted Falkirk earned their first top-flight victory in 15 years as they saw off 10-man Aberdeen to leave them bottom of the Scottish Premiership. While the visitors would have been fresh after having last weekend off, the hosts stepped out in the Granite City hoping there was no physical or mental hangover following their midweek Europa League play-off defeat to FCSB in Romania. Aberdeen had the better of a first half which saw a whirling wind make life difficult for both sides. The Dons created several decent chances, with Falkirk keeper Scott Bain having to produce good saves to deny Topi Keskinen twice and Nicolas Milanovic. At the other end, Bain's Aberdeen counterpart Dimitar Mitov did well to turn a powerful Brad Spencer shot wide. As the interval approached, the home side were reduced to 10 men when Nicky Devlin was sent off following a robust challenge on Calvin Miller. Devlin was initially booked, but that was upgraded to red after referee Ross Hardie was called to the monitor by the video assistant referee (VAR). With the extra man advantage Falkirk took charge after the break. Mitov produced good saves to deny Dylan Tait and Scott Arfield, while Spencer had an effort cleared off the line. So it was no surprise when the visitors took the lead. Substitute Kyrell Wilson, a recent arrival from Swansea City, drilled the ball into the net on 74 minutes to secure the three points for John Mc Glynn's side. After a hectic few days Jimmy Thelin will probably welcome the international break. How they emerge from it could define the kind of season they have. The Dons have known for some time they have a hectic schedule of European and domestic fixtures to juggle for the next few months. But this is still a squad that is short of striking options. Today was another example, Aberdeen created several good scoring opportunities and couldn't take them. Increasing those options between now and the end of the transfer window could prove pivotal in terms of how Aberdeen fare between now and the next one opening at the turn of the year. The step up to the Premiership was always going to be a challenge for top division new boys Falkirk. But there are plenty of positives they can take from their showing at Pittodrie and not just because they won the game. They were organised and disciplined and showed the game awareness to capitalise on having the extra man for so long in the match. The Bairns have adapted well to the step up to the top tier. They have had to deal with a number of injuries – once they have a fully fit squad at their disposal , John Mc Glynn's side will be a real handful for anyone as the season wears on. Aberdeen have only lost one of their last 18 home league games against newly promoted opponents (W10 D7), and are unbeaten in their last 10 (W6 D4) since a 1-2 defeat to Ross County in February 2020. Aberdeen have lost each of their last six league games, their longest such losing run since December 2010 (7). All three of Falkirk’s league goals this season have had a different scorer and different assister; indeed, no team has more different players with at least one goal or assist in this season’s Scottish Premiership than the Bairns (6). The Dons last failed to score in their opening three games of a league campaign in 2011-12, last lost each of their opening three in 2003-04, and last lost and failed to score in each of their first three in 2001-02.
