Scottish Premiership Sportscene is starting right now on the BBC Scotland channel and i Player, so we'll let our TV team take over. Thanks for joining on another day of high drama. We'll be back before you know it. FT: Aberdeen 0-2 Rangers Kris Boyd Former Rangers striker on Sky Sports I don't think there are any players in that Aberdeen team they can currently sell for money. It's not good enough. Aberdeen are a big football club currently underperforming. FT: Aberdeen 0-2 Rangers Derek Ferguson Former Rangers midfielder on BBC Sportsound I've not seen an Aberdeen side at Pittodrie give as little effort. I was expecting a physical game, but there was absolutely nothing about them. FT: Aberdeen 0-2 Rangers Time for Graeme Shinnie to retire and Peter Leven is no better than Jimmy Thelin with this lot as his disposal. Rob Bottom six and another fight to avoid relegation for the Dons again this season. Stunningly poor stuff. Dandy FT: Aberdeen 0-2 Rangers Aberdeen interim manager Peter Leven tells BBC Scotland: "I thought the first half was OK, but we never really hurt them. "Second half was not good enough. We kind of fell away a bit. "We need more bodies in the box in attack and more composure in the final third. "There are standards at this club and it needs to be better. " Asked what's gone wrong this season, Leven replies: "A bit of everything, (lack of) confidence, fire, hunger. "There's some talented players in there. It's just trying to get that out of them. " FT: Aberdeen 0-2 Rangers Kris Boyd Former Rangers striker on Sky Sports I said they were out of it, but Rangers are now well and truly in a title race now. To drag Rangers back into it is incredible [from Danny Rohl], but you've got to kick on. One title in 15 years isn't good enough, but you would imagine there would another two or three players to come in. Then you never know. FT: Aberdeen 0-2 Rangers After only winning five of their opening 14 league games of the season (D8 L1), Rangers have since won seven of their past eight. FT: Aberdeen 0-2 Rangers Rangers head coach Danny Rohl tells BBC Scotland: "The game management was outstanding. I'm happy, that's five wins in a row. "We couldn't win here for two years and today we showed how we want to play football for 90 minutes. It's a huge step forward. "We have a clean sheet mentality. You defend to the end and, if you do this, you win games. "We are growing. We have a clear idea of what we want to do and all the small details influence our performance. I'm very proud. It's a development from everyone at the club, the players, the staff. " Rohl says he didn't see any objects thrown from the stands at full-time and describes the decision to disallow the header from Emmanuel Fernandez as "unlucky" before adding "we showed a great reaction". FT: Aberdeen 0-2 Rangers Chris Sutton Celtic striker Chris Sutton on Sky Sports Rangers players can't be treated differently to other players. You can't go around spraying water on fans. There has to be some sort of punishment for Nico Raskin. FT: Aberdeen 0-2 Rangers This video can not be played Watch: Rangers' Raskin sprays Aberdeen fan Post-match footage from Pittodrie seems to show Rangers midfielder Nico Raskin spraying an Aberdeen fan with water. FT: Aberdeen 0-2 Rangers At last a Rangers team with motivation and spirit. Onwards and upwards. Danny the magician. Lorraine FT: Aberdeen 0-2 Rangers Rangers confirmed their first January signing earlier today, midfielder Tochi Chukwuani joining from Sturm Graz on a three-and-a-half year deal. The 22-year-old was part of the Sturm side that beat Rangers in the Europa League and was sent off for a tackle on Callum Mc Gregor when they lost to Celtic. In 2022, a move to Serie A club Hellas Verona fell through because a medical examination found a "small heart defect". "I'm super excited, " he told club media. "Rangers are a huge club and I can't wait to hear the roar at Ibrox. "It's a historic club with a huge fanbase. There are huge expectations, and this is something as a footballer you want to play in front of. "It gives motivation every weekend to go and give 100% and do what you can to put smiles on people's faces. " FT: Aberdeen 0-2 Rangers Kris Boyd Former Rangers striker on Sky Sports Danny Rohl will know himself performances will get better. The team does need quality added to it. Rangers are in a right good position now. FT: Aberdeen 0-2 Rangers James Mc Fadden Former Scotland forward on Sky Sports Rangers have built up real good momentum and put themselves in a brilliant position, an unlikely position before Danny Rohl took over. FT: Aberdeen 0-2 Rangers Since Danny Rohl joined the club in October, Rangers have the most wins (11), points (35) and goals (26) of any Scottish Premiership side, while only Motherwell have conceded fewer goals. FT: Aberdeen 0-2 Rangers James Tavernier now has 89 Scottish Premiership goals. Only former Celtic and Hibs striker Leigh Griffiths has more, with 92, since the league's rebrand in 2013. FT: Aberdeen 0-2 Rangers Rangers captain James Tavernier tells Sky Sports: "Very good win. We made no excuses before the game. Really proud of the win and big thanks to the fans who travelled up. "We knew it would be difficult. It was a proper performance. It's about consistency, we've got to keep going. The togetherness, we're quite a young squad and the players are maturing really well. " FT: Aberdeen 0-2 Rangers FT: Aberdeen 0-2 Rangers Kris Boyd Former Rangers striker on Sky Sports Some of those players in the Aberdeen dressing room need to give themselves a shake. If players don't want to make an effort to run about, run in behind then. .. FT: Aberdeen 0-2 Rangers Hmm, that's surely very unlikely given Aberdeen are still 11 points clear of Kilmarnock in 11th place. At a glance Aasgaard fires Rangers in front from a corner Fernandez header ruled out for challenge on Mitov Tavenier converts penalty after foul on Gassama Fourth successive defeat without scoring for Aberdeen Watch Aberdeen v Rangers highlights 11/01/26 Rangers remain three points behind Scottish Premiership leaders Hearts after a second 2-0 win over Aberdeen in six days. On a blustery, rainy evening at Pittodrie, Thelo Aasgaard steered in a cushioned volley from a corner and James Tavernier converted a penalty kick. Emmanuel Fernandez was on target at Ibrox on Tuesday and thought he had scored again, only for the defender's header to be ruled out for an infringement on Dimitar Mitov. The goalkeeper had come a long way off his line and looked well beaten in the air but, after reviewing the incident on the pitchside monitor, referee David Dickinson decided that an arm had impeded Mitov. Prior to that contentious moment, Aasgaard - in for the injured Connor Barron - had opened the scoring on 23 minutes, touching home a well-worked short corner. Djeidi Gassama later tumbled under a challenge from Graeme Shinnie, allowing Tavernier to wrap up the victory from the spot with 15 minutes remaining. Since Danny Rohl took over in October, Rangers have the most wins (11), points (35), and goals (26) of any top flight side. Aberdeen, who stay eighth in the table, have gone the most games without scoring (10). This was a fourth defeat in a row, all without a goal, which last happened for the Dons in December 2010. Both Rangers goals on Tuesday were scored direct from corners, and set-pieces were again the main source of the visitors' threat. Aasgaard's smart finish was their 11th goal from a corner this season, while Fernandez could only knock over a free header from an earlier delivery. The disallowed Fernandez effort came from a free-kick, as did a great chance for Nico Raskin that was nodded wide early in the second half. There were opportunities from open play too, as Mohamed Diomande and James Tavernier had first-half shots saved. Mitov also made a good blocks to deny Youssef Chermiti and Mikey Moore as Rangers enjoyed a comfortable victory at a venue that has proved tricky in recent years. Aberdeen have chopped and changed up front all season. Interim manager Peter Leven brought fresh faces into his attack but the home fans did not have much to cheer. The loudest they got was jeering former striker Bojan Miovski as he came off the bench in stoppage time. Nicolas Milanovic had an early shot blocked by John Souttar, while Jack Butland saved well from a Leighton Clarkson drive - and that was about it until Topi Keskinen had a go with almost the last kick. The hosts looked lost for long spells and perhaps the most worrying element was the lack of bite in what is a traditionally feisty fixture. Aberdeen took four points from Rangers at Pittodrie last term but, with a mere 20 goals from 22 games, this campaign appears to be fizzling out. This video can not be played 'Everything goes in the right direction' - Rohl Rangers manager Danny Rohl: "The game management was outstanding.
