We know last season wasn’t really good for the team, but I think this season we will win a lot with him (Ruben Amorim) and I hope this season that we are going to achieve a lot of good things by the end of the season, ’ the 23-year-old added. Pressed on what would be a good season, Amad insisted that qualification for the Champions League would be a success for United. ‘A good season will be top five. I hope we can achieve top five at the end of the season, ’ he said. Matheus Cunha made his debut for United in a pre-season friendly against Leeds on Saturday, after making a £62. 5m move from Wolves while Bryan Mbeumo is also set to join Amorim’s side after a deal with Brentford was agreed, worth in excess of £70m. Asked about Cunha, Amad said: ‘He’s a good player - we need good players in the team and he’ll bring a lot to the team. I hope he can give us some different things.
