Andy Robertson and Arne Slot celebrated after Sunday's win over Tottenham Hotspur Scotland captain Andy Robertson says the "devastation" of missing out on celebrating the English title in front of Liverpool's own fans during the pandemic was "the driving force" towards winning it again on Sunday. Manchester City had topped the Premier League four years running since the 31-year-old left-back was last able to lift the trophy in 2020. But the 5-1 thrashing of Tottenham Hotspur secured Liverpool's 20th title - drawing them level with Manchester United. "It means the world - it means everything to us, " Robertson told BBC Radio 5 Live. Liverpool announce Premier League victory parade 'It feels real now! "The people at Anfield, the people outside Anfield, they have made it a special day for all of us and one we'll remember for years and years to come, " Robertson said. "Obviously, the last time, we were devastated not to be able to do it in front of them. "For the lads who have already won it, that was the driving force for the next few years and it's took us a little longer than we probably wanted to, but that's been what's driving us forward to experience it in front of fans. "To give a generation that hasn't seen us lift the trophy that experience. I'm sure there were a lot of tears of happiness in the stadium. " That last title was under Jurgen Klopp and Robertson lauded successor Arne Slot for doing likewise in his first season in charge. "He has done unbelievable, " he added. "Obviously the manager gets all the credit, and rightly so, but his assistants and coaches and everyone behind him work so hard to make sure we are best prepared as possible into every game. "He is a winner and made that very clear on day one and we all got on board with that very easily and it was just about getting into a rhythm and we have managed that. It was just about getting over the line and we are delighted for him and for all of ourselves. " Meanwhile, Scotland winger Ben Doak has confirmed on social media that he will miss the rest of this season with the thigh injury that required surgery while on loan to Middlesbrough from Liverpool.
