The MLS regular season ends in October and LAFC are sixth in the Western Conference. The nine highest-placed teams in each conference make the MLS play-offs. Postecoglou has also been linked, external with a job in the Saudi Pro League at Asian Champions League winners Al Ahli, where German Matthias Jaissle has been manager since July 2023.
