By ABDI RASHID Published: 04: 41 AEST, 19 July 2025 | Updated: 05: 16 AEST, 19 July 2025 2 View comments Arsenal appear to have accidentally confirmed the signing of Valencia defender Cristhian Mosquera.   As Mail Sport reported on Sunday, talks advanced last weekend and the 21-year old agreed personal terms with Arsenal.   The Spaniard underwent a medical earlier this week ahead of joining the Gunners in  £13million deal with added bonus payments.   While the club has yet to officially announce the deal, fans were quick to spot an image briefly published on Arsenal’s website showing Mosquera in training gear. The photo, which appears to have been mistakenly uploaded in place of an image of Noni Madueke, shows the defender during what looked to be a welcome interview at London Colney. Mosquera can play at both centre-back and right-back and will fill the gap in the squad left by the departure of Takehiro Tomiyasu, who mutually agreed to terminate his contract. Meanwhile, Arsenal are finalising details with Sporting Lisbon for the transfer of Victor Gyokeres.   Arteta's side have already signed Martin Zubimendi from Real Sociedad, Christian Norgaard from Brentford and Kepa Arrizabalaga from Chelsea as Mikel Arteta looks to strengthen his squad following another runner's-up finish in the Premier League.   Arsenal also confirmed the arrival of Madueke from Chelsea on Friday in a deal worth an initial £48million, rising to £52m.   The 23-year-old will wear the number 20 shirt and is set to join up with his new teammates in early August, having been involved in Chelsea's Club World Cup campaign earlier this summer. Arsenal are also keen to add another attacking option with Eberechi Eze from Crystal Palace high on their list of targets.
