The 23-year-old England international was forced off at half-time at the Emirates Stadium, having played through discomfort during the first half. Mikel Arteta said Madueke “had an issue very early in the match and he wasn’t well enough to continue” before being replaced by Bukayo Saka. Scans conducted on Monday are understood to have confirmed the injury is serious enough to keep him out of action until late November. Madueke joins a growing list of absentees at Arsenal, with Kai Havertz recovering from knee surgery and Martin Ødegaard having missed the game against City because of a shoulder problem. Saka made his return from a three-week layoff caused by a hamstring injury, with Madueke having stood in for him on the right flank during his absence.
