Brentford are interested in Bournemouth's Dango Outtara as a potential Yoane Wissa replacement, talk SPORT understands. The Cherries would be open to selling for the right price. Brentford had been adamant that Wissa would not be sold after Bryan Mbeumo left to join Manchester United for £71million. The Bees also lost manager Thomas Frank to Tottenham earlier this summer, appointing former set-piece coach Keith Andrews as his replacement. talk SPORT understands Brentford are now willing to soften their not-for-sale stance on Wissa if they find a replacement. The 28-year-old striker is currently training alone and pushing for a transfer after leaving the team's pre-season camp in Portugal. Newcastle have seen two bids for Wissa rejected, including one worth an initial £30m plus £5m in potential add-ons. The DR Congo international, who has less than one year remaining on his contract, believes he had a gentleman's agreement with Brentford to leave this summer after agreeing to stay for the 2024/25 campaign. Wissa is still prioritising a Premier League move over joining the Saudi Pro League, talk SPORT understands. NEOM and Al-Nassr have both made recent approaches, as revealed last week. Both Saudi clubs believe Brentford will sell for around £40m. However, Wissa wants to play Champions League football and is willing to wait for Newcastle, or another club in Europe. Should Brentford sign Outtara, it could open the door for Newcastle to sign Wissa, which in turn could see Alexander Isak allowed to leave St James' Park. The Magpies are reluctant to sell their star forward without finding a replacement first - and recently missed out on Benjamin Sesko to Manchester United despite making a club-record £69. 4m bid. Newcastle have also been linked with Aston Villa's Ollie Watkins, RB Leipzig's Lois Openda and Chelsea's Nicolas Jackson. talk SPORT understands the Toon Army have also enquired about the availability of Wolves striker Jorgen Strand Larsen. Sweden superstar Isak is desperate to join Liverpool, who had a £110m rejected earlier this month, and is currently banished from Newcastle training amid speculation over his future. Brentford signing Outtara as Wissa's replacement could hold the key to Isak joining Liverpool. The Reds are in the market for a new starting striker after agreeing to sell Darwin Nunez to Al-Hilal for £46. 3m. Burkina Faso international Outtara scored seven goals in the Premier League last season, including a hat-trick against Nottingham Forest in January. The 23-year-old emerged as a useful striker for Bournemouth amid an injury crisis, having previously been deployed at left-back or wing-back. He joined the Cherries in a £19. 5m move from FC Lorient in 2023 and is contracted to the Vitality Stadium until 2028. © 2025 talk SPORT Limited
