That's all for now folks. .. Four draws from the five games tonight, with Celtic the only winners on the night Martin O'Neill hands over to new manager Wilfried Nancy. Hearts and Celtic are now level at the top of the Premiership - and those two meet in Glasgow on Sunday. Thanks for your company and enjoy what's left of Sportscene. FT: Falkirk 0-0 Motherwell Motherwell manager Jens Berthel Askou: "I think Falkirk defended really well and made it really hard for us to get control of the game in the final third. "We didn't do enough in the first half to create the big moments we needed. "The way we came out in the second half was a lot better, invested more, had our moments and didn't take them. There were fewer and fewer of them as the game went on. "I think they are growing as a team in terms of defensive mentality and to give ourselves the platform to win every game. It starts with a solid defensive performance. "We'll take the point although we're a little disappointed we didn't take the moments and that we didn't create more. " FT: Falkirk 0-0 Motherwell Falkirk manager John Mc Glynn: "I think it was a tactical battle. "We tried to cancel Motherwell out because they're a very good team, pass the ball well and have some great rotations and movements. You have to be so switched on. "But we were very brave. We more or less went man for man all over the place. "I thought we were close to them and made it difficult for them. We knew we would have to do that. " Celtic’s recent win has reignited the title race, with the team now level on points with Hearts. While it’s too early to claim top spot, the momentum is clearly back in our favour. Julian The wheels have come off for Hearts. They need a spark from somewhere to get them going again. Strange line-up from Mc Innes didn’t help though. Paul Hearts, Motherwell and Hibs must be looking at Rangers and licking those second-place lips. Scott FT: Hearts 1-1 Kilmarnock Hearts head coach Derek Mc Innes tells BBC Scotland: "100% [it feels like two points dropped]. You're never there until the referee blows the final whistle. "It's a mistake, we're not going to kill people for that. We should be dealing with the shot. It's unfortunate for us for all the control we had. A lot of what I wanted from the game was there. "We could have done with that second goal, but sometimes 1-0 should be enough. We should just stay calm. We get away with a wee scare. If we play the game in their half we should be fine. We allowed ourselves to deal with a shot and we should deal with it. "Make the keeper make a save, follow things in. We spoke about that at half-time, we don't always need to score a brilliant goal. Get your messy goals, your tap-ins, put the ball in the box and ask questions. "I thought we brought a lot of intelligence and showed a lot of control and authority. We never quite [put the game to bed]. " FT: Aberdeen 3-3 St Mirren Aberdeen manager Jimmy Thelin tells BBC Scotland: "You get a lot of emotions when you come back in the game so many times and do a really good performance overall. "It was disappointing to score three goals and come away with one point. "We created more chances, looked quite balanced, but sometimes moments happen in the game and St Mirren were really effective. "I'm really focused on being good again on Saturday. A lot of things were good today, but that's football sometimes. "We have been on a quite good run and in the moment, you have feelings. This is in the past now and we need to stay positive and focus on the right things. " FT: Celtic 1-0 Dundee Dundee boss Steven Pressley tells BBC Scotland: "I always say, to come here and get a result you need the perfect performance. It wasn’t a perfect performance, but it was a really positive performance. "We had to endure some difficult moments early in the game. It’s easy to go under in place like this, but we didn’t. I’m really proud of the performance. It was important we took another step in the right direction after the win at the weekend and I feel we did that. "The team has been evolving in a difficult period and that’s testament to the players. It’s been a really testing run for us. But within that, the players have shown great resilience. "I’ve seen a team that’s showing great bravery just now. We came here and we tried to play. In many ways it was a win for us. " What is the point in VAR? Officials aren't good enough to oversee it, sucks the life outta the game. How United never got a pen for handball is a joke. Two extremely poor decisions in two games against United. Barry Said at the outset that Mc Innes wasn't Hearts level. Can't change tactics when required. Ken Looks like Jim Goodwin and Dundee Utd are next in line for an official apology. Absolutely horrendous decisions. Jim FT: Aberdeen 3-3 St Mirren St Mirren manager Stephen Robinson tells BBC Scotland: "I'm so proud of the players. It's so easy to give up in life when things are going against you. "They showed great character and overall, a point's probably a fair result. A big turning point for us. "I've already said too much on decisions. That's six goals disallowed in five games I believe. Referees do the best they possibly can and we have to go with that. "I'd rather talk about the character and desire shown. Our results in the league haven't been good enough and it's easy to feel sorry for yourself - we didn't, we kept battling. "The only statistic that matters is the end result, but you have to look at the positives and there are a lot of them. Our x G is massive and we're just not getting things our way. "We're conceding too many goals. That's something that has to be better. "To see that attitude and desire from the players, that's the big thing from me. We have to try to get three points and go into the cup final with a positive mindset. " You can catch highlights from all of tonight's game very soon. Sportscene is on BBC One Scotland at 22: 40 and we'll stream the show at the top of this page. FT: Dundee United 2-2 Rangers Rangers manager Danny Rohl tells BBC Scotland: "We are disappointed with just one point. I see how many chances we create, we should win this game. We had more tempo, better body shape between the lines. "The weekend [at home to Falkirk] was a boring draw, today was an entertaining draw, but for both you get just one point. "If we can bring the performance against the ball in the Falkirk game and the performance today with the ball in one game, then the opportunity is big to win the next game. " FT: Hearts 1-1 Kilmarnock Kilmarnock manager Stuart Kettlewell tells BBC Scotland: "I thought we were pushing to win it. Firstly we felt we had to give ourselves a foundation in the game. "We spoke about tying to grow in the game and that was in the gameplan. It's a brilliant finish from Lawrence Shankland, but we roll the dice and put attackers on to get something out of the game. "The players managed the game well from 1-0 down. We were looking for a big moment and Bruce [Anderson] came up trumps. " FT: Celtic 1-0 Dundee "These players have been absolutely fantastic, " are the first words out of Martin O'Neill's mouth in a brief on-pitch interview. "It's been a privilege. I've had the time of my life. " This video can not be played Martin O'Neill takes applause after final game in interim charge at Celtic FT: Dundee United 2-2 Rangers Rory Loy Former Falkirk striker on BBC Sportsound Rangers were extremely wasteful. They got into some great positions and picked the wrong options. If they had more quality in their frontline, they could have scored four or five. FT: Hearts 1-1 Kilmarnock Martin O'Neill wasn't the only departure tonight since Ann Budge is stepping down as the chair at Hearts. She was given a rousing reception at half-time. Budge now takes on the title of honorary president and she's sure to be a regular over the rest of the season. FT: Dundee United 2-2 Rangers Dundee United manager Jim Goodwin tells BBC Scotland: "That's five draws in the last eight games and that's not good enough for us to achieve what we want to achieve. "We've performed well in these big games and we have to bring the same mindset to other games. He describes the late penalty as "a coming together", saying: "I can see why it's given. The Rangers player just about got there half a second before Will [Ferry]. If that happened at the other end, I'd be screaming for it myself. " On the Rangers handball, he adds: "It would have been nice to get it [a penalty] but I'd be disappointed if my defender got punished in that situation. " FT: Celtic 1-0 Dundee A croaky Martin O'Neill tells BBC Scotland: "To get a reception like that was pretty special. " He adds: "The bottom line is not only have the players done it, they've made me feel very young, which I'm not. Restoration of confidence was most important and they really stepped up. "I'm relieved to win. I thought we could have put the game to bed earlier and it got a bit nervy at the end, but we've won, which keeps the club going. " FT: Hearts 1-1 Kilmarnock Ryan Stevenson Former Hearts forward on BBC Sportsound It was a tremendous away performance from Kilmarnock given the pressure the manager is under. They got what they deserved. I expected Hearts to take the sting out of the game after they scored but it turned into a basketball match. They've got nobody but themselves to blame. FT: Dundee United 2-2 Rangers Billy Dodds Former Dundee Utd & Rangers striker on BBC Sportsound It was a magical game, full of energy and technical ability. Rangers played well but they are vulnerable and United created so many chances on the break. You would probably have to say a draw was fair but the penalty is controversial because there's not a lot of contact. Both teams brought so much to it and I was surprised there wasn't more goals. FT Celtic 1-0 Dundee Martin Dowden BBC Sport Scotland at Celtic Park What a story. Martin O'Neill has addressed the crowd heaping praise on his players and the fans. He said he'd had the time of his life. He got quite the reception in return. His legacy enhanced further by adoring supporters. Daizen Maeda scores the only goal in Celtic's win At a glance Maeda goal enough to move Celtic level on points with Hearts Interim manager O'Neill bows out with 100% domestic record Top two meet on Sunday in what will be Nancy's first game in charge of Celtic Watch Celtic v Dundee highlights 03/12/25 Celtic delivered a victorious send-off for Martin O'Neill to maintain the interim manager's 100% domestic record and move them level on points with Scottish Premiership leaders Hearts before the sides meet on Sunday. Daizen Maeda's early header proved decisive, and turned out to be even more valuable when Hearts conceded late to spill points against Kilmarnock. It means new manager Wilfried Nancy can take Celtic top of the table should he win his debut match, his appointment having been confirmed just before kick-off. Dundee were unable to replicate their recent victory over their opponents at Dens Park, with Simon Murray's effort off the crossbar the closest they came to an equaliser. There was an energy around the stadium in anticipation of heralding O'Neill after a run of results that ensured his legacy was enhanced. Nancy takes Celtic job and promises 'exciting football' 'Mad scientist' & 'next Luis Enrique' - who is Celtic boss Nancy? More on Celtic's win & Nancy appointment Celtic started brightly and got the early opener from wonderful, flowing move. Reo Hatate produced an excellent first time pass to release Hyun-jun Yang. Goalkeeper Jon Mc Cracken did well to block but Maeda rose highest to nod home the opener, sustaining a whack on the head for his trouble. However, having failed to gain a two-goal cushion, Celtic almost let Dundee level shortly before the interval. Liam Scales was woefully short with a header back towards Kasper Schmeichel and Murray nipped in and struck the bar. Schmeichel did well to save a deflected Cameron Congreve strike on the follow up. It was a close as Dundee got. After the break, Maeda raced on to Luke Mc Cowan's saved shot but bundled wide. Hatate was then denied well by Mc Cracken low down at his post. Ashley Hay had one effort on the break from Dundee but the angle was too tight. Maeda's goal proved enough but far from vintage Celtic. Vintage O'Neill, though. A final win to cap his triumphant return. As far as impact goes, O'Neill has absolutely risen to the challenge. Celtic were in something of disarray after Brendan Rodgers departed, eight points behind Hearts with a clear fracture between supporters and the board. To say he has steadied the ship is an understatement. A 100% record in the Premiership has closed right up on Hearts and now Nancy will have the chance to move into top spot this weekend. What a turnaround in fortunes, with a cup final to follow and a real shot at Europa League progression. It will be quite the task for Nancy to follow that, particularly with a run of Hearts, Roma and then the League Cup final against St Mirren to come. Quite the opening week. For Dundee, getting anything was always unlikely They had a significant boost by beating St Mirren in their previous fixture and that gave them a small cushion above the bottom placed sides. No damage done here. They were attacking and their goals came from players taking responsibility and delivering. They'll need to lean on that more often. All three of their league wins have come at home and that is something they need to build on starting with their upcoming fixture at Dens Park.
