The 47-year-old, who is expected to attend the London Stadium on Tuesday for the crunch game against West Ham, was appointed in July after leaving Arsenal. It was hoped his experience and contacts would help Forest to build their brand on and off the pitch but, with the club facing a relegation battle, concern has been raised over signings. Forest come up against their former boss Nuno Espírito Santo on Tuesday, and his departure from the City Ground at the start of the season was blamed in part to his poor relationship with Edu. The Brazilian is believed to have pushed for the signings of Douglas Luiz from Juventus and Ipswich’s Omari Hutchinson, while Nuno and the recruitment team wanted different players. Forest are also in the process of allowing forward Arnaud Kalimuendo to join Eintracht Frankfurt on loan, less than five months after paying Rennes £26m to sign him. Another proposed deal that has raised eyebrows among supporters. Forest owner Evangelos Marinakis had added: 'We are extremely happy to welcome Edu to our football family. 'His global experience, values, and winning mindset align perfectly with our objective to strengthen and expand our international football platform. ' Edu himself said: 'I'm truly excited about this new chapter and honoured by the trust placed in me. 'This project connects deeply with my values around innovation and long-term planning. I look forward to building a global football model that is competitive, sustainable, and aligned with our president's [Evangelos Marinakis] ambition. '
