Jack Currie comes in for his first league start at left-back and there are debuts for transfer-window signings Ben Davies and Filip Krastev. Tyler Goodrham is on the bench but Greg Leigh and Hidde ter Avest miss out. Aaron Ramsey makes his Leicester debut with Louis Page missing out after being injured on England under-17 duty. Oxford United v Leicester (12: 30 BST) You may already have read elsewhere that it's 31 years since these two last met. That meeting, at Oxford's old Manor Ground, was also in the second tier with that season ending in relegation for the U's and promotion for Leicester, via the play-offs. Given the way these two have started there is nothing to say there might be a similar outcome next May. Under Gary Rowett Oxford have taken fewer points (17) from their past 20 games than previous boss Des Buckingham managed in his final 20 in charge (18). On one of the lower budgets in the Championship Oxford are trying to play a bit of moneyball by looking to Europe's less celebrated leagues for new recruits with notably last season's capture of forward Ole Romeny (FC Utrecht) and the summer arrival of midfielder Brian De Keersmaecker (Heracles). Bulgarian midfielder Filip Krastev joined from Belgian outfit Lommel on deadline day but Rowett needs a win sooner rather than later. Leicester, with the possibility of finish the day top of the table, saw their squad cherry-picked during the transfer window but they have managed to keep hold of forward Abdul Fatawu while being able to fill the gaps left by those departing. A win over Birmingham before the international break seems to have been enough to give fans hope Marti Cifuentes might be able to mount a promotion challenge. Charlton v Millwall (12: 30 BST) Coming off the back of a 3-1 defeat to QPR before the international break, Charlton gaffer Nathan Jones makes one change. New striker Charlie Kelman starts, replacing Miles Leaburn in attack, while Joe Rankin-Costello and Harvey Knibbs are on the bench. As for the visitors, Millwall boss Alex Neil also makes just a solitary change from the side that lost to Wrexham. Joe Bryan returns and replaces Zak Sturge who drops to the bench. Charlton v Millwall (12: 30 BST) Thirty seasons have passed since Charlton last tasted a league victory over today's opponents Millwall. A teenage Lee Bowyer grabbed the opening goal in a 2-0 win for Alan Curbishley's side, who went on to finish sixth in the second-tier that campaign. Current Addicks boss Nathan Jones would certainly take a repeat of that today, as his men go in to their South London derby off the back of two consecutive defeats before the international break. In total, Charlton are 12 without a win in the league against the Lions, who have won their opening two Championship fixtures this season away from The Den. Coming into today's clash, only beleaguered Sheffield United have a lower shot conversion so far this season than Charlton and Millwall. Let's hope that doesn't play into today's equation, however, as we look forward to the first of three London derbies happening across the leagues on this fine Saturday. Preston v Middlesbrough (12: 30 BST) Preston boss Paul Heckingbottom has made two changes from the team that started the 1-0 loss at Portsmouth last time out. Alfie Devine and Lewis Dobbin, on loan from Tottenham and Aston Villa respectively, come into the side for Stefan Thordarson and Michael Smith. Deadline day signing Harrison Armstrong, who is on a season-long loan from Everton, is on the bench. Middlesbrough defender Darragh Lenihan makes his first start since 23 September 2023 after returning from serious injury problems and on-loan left-back Matt Targett comes in for his first start for the club. Centre-back Dael Fry misses out, with boss Rob Edwards saying at his news conference in the week that there had been a sickness bug at the club.
