Norwich defender Brad Hill and Northampton's Cameron Mc Geehan were both left with bloodied heads after clashing in a heated friendly match. The two players came to blows during Saturday's pre-season fixture, which the Canaries won 3-1. Hills and Mc Geehan found themselves at odds with each other after knocking their heads while going up for a header at a corner. With both players needing treatment after being left with blood pouring from their heads, it's fair to say neither were best pleased. And it wasn't long before their anger boiled over, as a furious scuffle broke out as the two squared up to each other. Hills, and Mc Geehan, who is married to Made in Chelsea star Tiffany Watson, had to be separated to prevent their altercation becoming an all-out brawl. Even after the initial coming-together cooled, the pair continued to share crossed words with each other as they came off the pitch for treatment. The unsavoury scene managed to leave both benches angry too, with it also sparking a war of words on the touchline. For Mc Geehan, the scrap ultimately proved to be his final action on the pitch, as his injury led to him being replaced by Matty Ireland, while Hills completed the match. But fans online were quick to comment on the heated moment in a game with little to play for. Detailing the events at the time, one reporter pointed out the irony of the ugly scenes: "Decidedly unfriendly at Colney. " Another said: "Who said pre-season doesn't matter? " One more user added: "Second half descended into pre-season sparring. " Hills will certainly be hoping the incident has no bearing on his quest to break into Norwich's first-team in the season ahead. The 21-year-old has made five appearances for City having risen through the club's youth ranks, and spent last season on loan at Accrington Stanley, where he featured 16 times, scoring once. Meanwhile, Mc Geehan finds himself at a different stage of his career, as he prepares for his second season at Northampton. The 30-year-old joined the Cobblers in 2024, having previously made over 200 EFL appearances across spells at Luton, Barnsley and Colchester. Interestingly, Mc Geehan is also a product of Norwich's academy, but departed Carrow Road in 2015 having failed to make a senior appearance. Away from football, the midfielder has also made the news for his relationship with reality TV star wife Tiffany. The couple met during the COVID lockdown, before getting engaged in 2021 and marrying a year later, and now share two children together. © 2025 talk SPORT Limited
