Send it long lad! By Zac Campbell We now tick over towards seven minutes of injury time as Flamengo look to wind the clock down By Zac Campbell The Brazilian side have surely wrapped it up now! Wallace Yan is in the right place at the right time to poke home and surely give his team all three points. What a second half from Flamengo! By Zac Campbell Cole Palmer lofts a delicious ball in but Enzo Fernandez can't get enough power on his header - which nestles onto the roof of the net. By Zac Campbell Chelsea have a decent chance now with a free-kick on the right-hand side about 25 yards out. By Zac Campbell Gerson has a decent chance to make it three but lashes it straight into the cltuches of Robert Sanchez. By Zac Campbell Gerson goes into the book for a late lunge on Cucurella. Needless and naughty that one - but not on the Nicolas Jackson scale of stupidity. By Zac Campbell Well, well, well, talk about seeing the red mist. Chelsea have completely lost their marbles here! In six minutes they have gone from being a goal up to trailing on the scoreline and in numbers as Nicolas Jackson kicks out and is rightly shown a straight red. Ludicrous from the striker - who had only just come on the pitch! By Zac Campbell WHAT A TURNAROUND! Talk about a momentum shift in a football match - we really have one on our hands here. The big man Danilo is on the end of a corner that Chelsea fail to deal with and there is pandemonium in the stands! By Zac Campbell Enzo Maresca responds by bringing off Liam Delap and Reece James for Nicolas Jackson and Romeo Lavia. By Zac Campbell But Plata is not despondent for long as he is alive to another ball at the back post, which he heads into the path of Bruno Henrique for the substitute to poke home. Game on! Meanwhile, Gonzalo Henrique has come on for the Brazilian side in place of Giorgian de Arrascaeta. By Zac Campbell Somehow Flamengo haven't levelled things up here. By Zac Campbell Malo Gusto gets caught and Chelsea have a free-kick that is flashed just wide by Marc Cucurella. He seems perplexed that nobody shouted to leave as he had two other following in behind him. Big chance that. By Zac Campbell Chelsea get into a man-on-man situation while playing out from the back and the ball goes out for a throw. They still don't look convincing with the ball at their feet from a defensive perspective. By Zac Campbell Back underway in the land of cream cheese for the second half. Maybe that's why Chelsea are wearing all-white. .. By Zac Campbell The second half is just moments away as both sets of players re-emerge from the tunnel for the second period. By Zac Campbell Enzo Maresca may not be thrilled with the stop-start nature of the game but he will not mind one jot if his team get the win. Three points would virtually ensure their place in the knockout stages, remember. By Zac Campbell A storm in Benfica's match against Auckland City means that game is currently suspended with the Portuguese side winning 1-0. No such danger of that happening at Lincoln Financial Field however - hot, and always sunny, in Philadelphia. They might be trailing at the interval but you wouldn't know it from the noise in the stands. The Flamengo fans are really making the most of being out in the United States The half time whistle blows after a speculative effort by Erick Pulgar is easily saved by Robert Sanchez. Advantage Chelsea. Liam Delap then goes into the referee's book for a needless hack in the middle of the pitch. There was no reason to make that challenge whatsoever. Enzo Fernandez goes to ground and wants a penalty which is checked briefly by the VAR but swiftly waved away. More good work by Pedro Neto as he slips away down the right to set up a chance for Liam Delap. But he is thwarted by a strong block from Wesley. Flamengo get a free-kick and Chelsea are indebted to Levi Colwill who stops an equaliser by clearing off the line! Chelsea get a free kick after Jorginho catches Cole Palmer's ankles. Nothing comes of it however. Lots of laboured passing as the heat seems to be catching up with a fair few of players on both sides We are just over midway through the first half and as the ball goes out of play, it's time for a sip of water for the players and myself, too! Back underway again with half an hour gone Robert Sanchez almost concedes a corner as he holds onto the ball for an eternity. He nearly gives away a corner - under the new laws where you cannot hold onto it as a goalkeeper for more than nine seconds. Just after scoring, Pedro Neto goes into the referee's book for hacking down a Flamengo player. It's deflected behind for a corner but nothing comes of it. 4 Play is paused briefly as Gerson and Colwill clash heads but both players are ok to continue. By Zac Campbell Off we go in Philadelphia as Chelsea chase another victory in the Club World Cup By Zac Campbell Kick off is just minutes away! Cue the player walkouts, starting with Flamengo By Zac Campbell By Zac Campbell John Obi Mikel has labelled this match as a 'shootout' for top spot While they have not been to everyone's taste, Romeo Lavia has sung the praises of the player entrance-style scenes we have witnessed before matches at the Club World Cup. He commented: 'Why not bring it to the Premier League? It's a bit of a showbiz thing, isn't it? I quite like it. 'The only difference is [if we did it in the Premier League], we might get a bit cold because once you're out there, you have to wait for maybe the other players. ' We'll need to wait until kick-off to see who's playing where, because there's some debate in the press room over where Malo Gusto will pop up. The belief is it could be Reece James at right back, Enzo Fernandez and Moises Caicedo in midfield, and Gusto on the left wing – which you presume would be Enzo Maresca making an almighty point after he's used his press conferences to say they need to sign a left winger. By Zac Campbell Despite the uncertainty surrounding his career, Mudryk has been backed by his manager Enzo Maresca. By Zac Campbell The lead-up to tonight's contest has been dominated by stories surrounding Mykhailo Mudryk, after he was found to have violated the FA's doping rules, which could see him given a ban of up to four years. You can read more on that below. By Zac Campbell Liam Delap will indeed have the chance to grab his first goal in Chelsea blue. He starts. After completing a £30million move from Ipswich Town following an impressive season for the Tractor Boys despite their Premier League relegation, Liam Delap will be looking to bag his first goal for his new club tonight. Confirmation of whether or not he will start should be coming shortly. With both sides winning their opening game in the competition, it is all up for grabs tonight. As both LAFC and ES Tunis are on zero points, a win for either side would virtually guarantee their safe passage to the knockout stages. We have half of the team news for this evening's clash - with confirmation that Jorginho will start against his former club having left their rivals Arsenal as a free agent earlier this summer. Chelsea will be looking to make it back-to-back wins in the Club World Cup after beating LAFC 2-0 on Monday night thanks to goals from Pedro Neto and Enzo Fernandez. Chelsea fans are going to be heavily outnumered here in Philly, because there are thousands of Flamengo supporters tailgating outside of the Lincoln Financial Field. They're up for it. Brazilian sides are unbeaten at the Club World Cup, by the way. Palmeiras, Botafogo, Fluminense and Flamengo – none of them have lost. A few reasons for that, perhaps, including they are only 11 games into their domestic season in Brazil whereas this match represents Chelsea’s 59th of 2024-25. The Brazilians are used to playing in 30-odd degrees, too, after all. By Zac Campbell Hello everyone and welcome to coverage of Chelsea’s second game in the Club World Cup as they take on Brazilian side Flamengo. It’s a balmy evening in the UK with temperatures still in the high 20s - I’ve got my water bottle at the ready! This has to be the end of Jackson’ s Chelsea . ..
