The clash between Palmeiras vs Al Ahly at the Club World Cup was suspended due to adverse weather. An own goal from Wessam Abou Ali opened the scoring shortly after half time. Jose Lopez then doubled his side's lead in the 59th minute, just moments before the match was halted. Palmeiras began their campaign with a goalless draw against Porto on Sunday. Al Ahly had also been held to a 0-0 by Inter Miami in the opening match of the expanded Club World Cup. A win for the 2021 Copa Libertadores winners would take them to the top of group A with one match remaining with an own goal by Wessam Abou Ali and a strike by Jose Manuel Lopez putting them two goals up. It is not the first time a match at the tournament has been delayed by the weather. RB Salzburg's win over Pachuca on Wednesday night in Cincinnati was also suspended.
