Ian Wright will be part of ITV's coverage of England's Euro 2025 semi-final. The Lionesses face Italy in Geneva on Tuesday night looking to reach their third major tournament final in a row. Wright has been included in ITV's punditry line-up for the match, which kicks off at 8pm. He is expected to be joined by former Chelsea boss Emma Hayes, ex-England star Karen Carney and presenter Laura Woods. It is his first TV appearance for Lionesses coverage since his row with Eni Aluko. The former England striker had suggested Wright was taking away opportunities from female pundits due to his work covering women's football. Speaking on BBC Radio 4's Women's Hour in April, Aluko explained: "I've worked with Ian a long time and, you know, I think he's a brilliant broadcaster, but I think he's aware of just how much he's doing in the women's game. I think he should be aware of that. "The fact of the matter is, there is a limited amount of spaces available. "If we had a situation where there was an equal opportunity in the men's game for broadcasters and coaches that there is in the women's game, it's a free-for-all. "But that's not the case. I can't dominate the men's game in the way that, you know, you used Ian as an example. " The comments sparked considerable backlash on social media, with Aluko later apologising for her remarks. However, Wright admitted he could not accept the apology as he addressed the social media response. Aluko went on to step back from her presenting role at the Women's Football Awards days later. She has been part of ITV's coverage of this summer's tournament in Switzerland, though. Meanwhile, Wright was not initially named as part of the punditry team last month. Despite that, he is set to be involved for coverage of the clash with Italy tonight. England reached the last four following a penalty shootout victory over Sweden on Thursday. They will now be looking to extend an impressive recent record against their semi-final opponents. The reigning European champions are on a five-match unbeaten run against Italy dating back to 2012. A win over the Azzurri will set up a final clash with either Germany or Spain in Basel on Sunday. England beat the former in the previous Euros final, but suffered a defeat to Spain in the showpiece match at the 2023 Women's World Cup. © 2025 talk SPORT Limited
