Rasmus Hojlund joined Manchester United for £72m in 2023 Manchester United striker Rasmus Hojlund hailed his loan move to Napoli as a "great decision" after winning his first trophy with them. David Neres scored twice as Napoli claimed a deserved victory over Bologna to lift the Italian Super Cup in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. It is a second trophy at the club for Scotland midfielder Scott Mc Tominay after last season's Serie A triumph and a first for 22-year-old Hojlund, who joined in September. He arrived in Manchester in a £72m deal from Atalanta in 2023, but was deemed surplus to requirements after scoring just four league goals last season. His loan includes a clause obliging Napoli to buy him for £38m next summer. Brazilian winger Neres, 28, opened the scoring for the Serie A champions with a superb curling effort, and doubled their lead after the break when Bologna were caught out trying to play out from the back. "We came here as champions of Italy, we wanted this trophy and we showed it with a great performance, " Napoli forward Matteo Politano told Mediaset. "We could have scored a few more goals but we are happy with the victory. " Napoli have now won the Super Cup for the third time, with Neres finishing with three goals after also scoring in Thursday's semi-final win over previous holders AC Milan. Traditionally featuring the Serie A and Italian Cup winners, the competition was expanded in 2023 to include the runners-up from the league and cup. The four-team tournament is contracted to be held in Saudi Arabia until 2029.
