Evans made 241 appearances across two spells at Old Trafford Former Northern Ireland defender Jonny Evans says he is in no rush to make a decision about his future after leaving Manchester United. Evans, 37, left Old Trafford upon the expiry of his contract at the end of the 2024-25 season. It was a second spell at United for Evans, who came through the club's academy and won three Premier League titles and the Champions League with the club. "I'm not sure yet, " Evans told BBC Sport NI when asked about his next move. "I'll take a bit of time. I don't feel like I'm in a rush to do anything. " Evans made 241 appearances across his two United spells and also spent three years at West Brom from 2015 before joining Leicester. He played a key role as the Foxes won the FA Cup in 2021 before returning to Old Trafford on a one-year deal in 2023, winning the 2024 FA Cup before extending his deal for a further season. Davis and Evans' Northern Ireland careers were recognised before Tuesday's friendly against Iceland Evans won 107 caps for Northern Ireland before calling time on his international career last year. A key player in Northern Ireland's journey to the Euro 2016 knockout stages, Evans is hopeful his former boss Michael O'Neill can lead the current squad to World Cup qualification. "When you've got Michael O'Neill in charge, he gives everyone a little bit of hope, " added Evans, speaking at half-time in Tuesday's Iceland game at Windsor Park. "He's taken the team to a major tournament before and if you want anyone in charge, it's him. "When I look at this team it reminds me of ourselves. He's playing five at the back and he has Isaac Price, he's on a good run of form. "You look throughout the team, you see Dan Ballard and Trai Hume getting promoted, they'll be playing Premier League football and that'll only be good for the team. "I'm excited. Over the next couple of years I think we'll see them progress together.
