Leeds were denied back-to-back wins for the first time this season by Eli Kroupi's late equaliser At a glance Antoine Semenyo give visitors lead before Joe Rodon levels Sean Longstaff puts Leeds in front for first time Eli Kroupi scores stoppage-time equaliser for Bournemouth Draw moves Cherries up to third, Leeds 11th PLAYER RATINGS Eli Kroupi scored a stoppage-time equaliser to salvage a Premier League point for Bournemouth at Leeds United. Antoine Semenyo gave the visitors the lead in the first half with his fourth goal of the season, his well-taken free-kick from the edge of the box fizzing beyond Karl Darlow. But Leeds quickly fired back when Joe Rodon rose highest to head home Sean Longstaff's corner with Petrovic beaten by a deflection on the way through. Longstaff turned from provider to scorer after the break when he volleyed home brilliantly from the edge of the box to put the home side in front for the first time. Leeds defended valiantly after taking the lead but were undone in stoppage time by a well-taken volley from Kroupi. The draw moves Bournemouth up to third in the table, while Leeds are in eleventh. Have your say on Leeds’ performance What did you make of Bournemouth’s display? Longstaff is early into his Leeds career and Saturday may be the day he announced himself to the Elland Road faithful. It was just the 27-year-old's fourth start for the Whites following his summer move from Newcastle United and Saturday marked his first goal and assist. He was pinpoint with his delivery on corners all game and was rewarded when Rodon nodded beyond Petrovic to level. Longstaff topped off his performance with a superb goal to get off the mark in Leeds colours. The ball dropped kindly to him on the edge of the box after Anton Stach's effort was blocked and he hit it first time on the half-volley beyond the reach of Darlow. He was at the heart of everything good Leeds did and will feel aggrieved it did not see him on the winning side. Bournemouth's late equaliser means the club have now had their best start to a Premier League season after six games, only needing to avoid defeat at Elland Road to achieve that feat. Andoni Iraola's side have 11 points after six games and sit third in the Premier League table, four points behind leaders Liverpool who lost at Crystal Palace. The 4-2 defeat on the opening day to the champions remains the only time Bournemouth have tasted defeat in the league. It was not as pretty as it could have been in Yorkshire but the record, after six games at least, stands. Leeds welcome Tottenham Hotspur to Elland Road in the Premier League on Saturday, 4 October at 12: 30 BST, while Bournemouth are next in action when they host Fulham on Friday, 3 October at 20: 00. The last league match between Leeds United and Bournemouth saw the Cherries win 4-1 in April 2023 in what was Javi Gracia’s final game in charge of the Whites. Bournemouth have never won back-to-back league meetings with the Yorkshire club. After three goalless Premier League games, Leeds won 3-1 against Wolves last time out – the Whites last netted 3+ goals in back-to-back top-flight games in November 2022, one of which was at home against Bournemouth (won 4-3); the other saw them lose 4-3 away at Spurs. Bournemouth have made their joint best start to a Premier League campaign after five games (10 points – W3 D1 L1), along with the 10 points they picked up in 2018-19. It’s the first time the Cherries will go into a Premier League game as high as fourth when they’ve played more than two games in a season. Leeds are yet to concede a goal at Elland Road in the Premier League this season. The only two newly promoted clubs to keep a clean sheet in their first three games of a season are Swansea in 2011-12 and Watford in 2015-16. Only Newcastle (37) have faced fewer shots in the Premier League so far this season than Bournemouth (40). Since facing 19 shots versus Liverpool, they haven’t allowed their opponents more than six shots in their last four games – the last team to go five in a row without facing more than six shots were Chelsea in October and November 2021. Leeds are unbeaten in 22 home league games (W18 D4), keeping a clean sheet in 15 of those games and conceding only eight goals. The Whites have kept a clean sheet in their last four at Elland Road, last having a longer run in December and January in 2016-17 under Garry Monk (six in a row). Since the start of last season, Leeds have won 72% of their league games with captain Ethan Ampadu starting (21/29), compared to only 45% without him (10/22). Ampadu’s overall win percentage when starting league games for the Whites is 64% (won 48 of 75), the best win ratio of any player to start 50+ league games in Leeds United’s history. No player has made more line-breaking passes that have broken the defensive line in the Premier League this season than Bournemouth defender Marcos Senesi (9), while 18. 7% of his passes overall have been line-breaking passes, the second highest percentage among players with 200+ passes. Leeds United’s Noah Okafor made 14 dribbles in their 3-1 win over Wolverhampton Wanderers, the most by a player in a Premier League match so far this season and most by a Leeds player in a top-flight match on record.
