By LUKE POWER, SPORTS REPORTER and IAN LADYMAN, FOOTBALL EDITOR and JACK GAUGHAN Updated: 08: 24 AEDT, 1 March 2026 306 View comments Re-live Daily Mail Sport's live blog for the score, team news and updates as Leeds welcomed Manchester City to Elland Road in the Premier League, with Ian Ladyman and Jack Gaughan reporting from the ground.   By Luke Power Alright, that's all we've got time for tonight. Thanks for reading and commenting. Make sure to join our live blog for Arsenal vs Chelsea tomorrow. Night! By Luke Power A minority of Leeds supporters booed and whistled as Manchester City's Muslim players broke their fast in the 13th minute this evening. Now Kick it Out, an organisation which challenges discrimination in football, has released the following statement: 'It’s massively disappointing that some Leeds United fans jeered when Manchester City’s players broke their fast during the first half of the match at Elland Road this evening. This was compounded by the fact that an explanation was displayed on a big screen inside the stadium. 'Pausing the game to allow Muslim players to break their fast during Ramadan has been an agreed protocol for several years now. It’s an important and visible part of making the game welcoming for Muslim players and communities. 'But as tonight’s reaction shows, football still has a long way to go in terms of education and acceptance. ' By Luke Power By Luke Power You never know which Arsenal is going to turn up. There have been pressure points this season when they have absolutely delivered - take, for example, how they hammered Leeds 4-0 at Elland Road the week after losing to Manchester United. But they have also been shooting themselves in the foot recently, making four errors leading to goals in 2026. That air of superiority and calm has not evaporated, but it is not as dense these days. Chelsea are a big test tomorrow, given how well Liam Rosenior has done there. Arsenal need the Emirates on full song - and the fans can't get twitchy, or that will filter down to the players. Martin Odegaard has even admitted this season that the energy from the stands transmits to the players, for better or worse. By Luke Power We obviously didn't get a chance to see him today but I do recommend this read from our Manchester City reporter Jack Gaughan. Including: By Luke Power Man City have handed Rayan Ait-Nouri the man of the match award. No offence, but I disagree. I thought he struggled on the left side, particularly in the first half, where Leeds found that flank something of a playground for creating chances. I think the stand-out stars for me today were Aaronson and Struijk from Leeds, and then somebody like Nunes or Dias for City. But in general I don't think it was a game dictated by a key man, more of a team effort on both sides. By Luke Power Quite a lot of people are of the opinion that Farke was sent off for his antics before he even reached Peter Bankes. Has Bankes already made up his mind due to the aggressiveness of Farke's approach? It's at times like these when I wish we had manager interviews. Then again, officials are pounded enough - the last thing they need is an interview at the end of overseeing a game. By Luke Power Daniel Farke's assistant Edmund Riemer has been speaking to BBC's Match of the Day programme. He said: 'I just had a short chat [with Daniel Farke]. Six minutes added time, they were time wasting and there were incidents; the goalkeeper keeping the ball so he was emotional in terms of going on the pitch and asking. 'Maybe he did it in a too aggressive manner I would think. I am disappointed because he's never a manager who's over aggressive or overreacting. I think it's a very harsh decision. ' He added: 'I'm completely pleased with performance. There are parts you need to suffer and wait but we pushed City all the way, I'm completely proud of the boys it's just a shame we didn't get anything out of the game. 'I'm disappointed we didn't score but that's football. Playing City, not many teams have many more chances than we did. Fair play to them. They overloaded the left side, good run, good finish. ' By Luke Power By Luke Power We missed this before, but it looks like Guardiola was giving as good as he got from Leeds' main stand. He blew kisses - a couple of weeks AFTER Valentine's Day - and waved at the Leeds fans who had given him grief throughout the evening and were talling him where to go at the end. By Luke Power Pep Guardiola says Antoine Semenyo brings much more than just his goals - but six in 11 games is certainly some way to go! He told Sky Sports: 'The guys made an extraordinary effort. [On Semenyo]: 'The impact has been really good, not just in terms of goals but many things. ' [When do you expect Haaland back? ]: 'I don't know. ' He added rather sarcastically on the fixture schedule: 'Thank you so much for letting me play at 8pm [next week against Newcastle in the FA Cup fifth round] rather than 3pm because then we have Real Madrid. ' By Luke Power Not too much reason to worry for Leeds. They're still six points clear of West Ham. Crucially, they've got Tottenham and Nottingham Forest beneath them as well. Should be safe, especially with the way they're playing. A disgrace stopping for Ramadan
