England star Jess Carter is not going to be part of the victorious Lionesses' homecoming bus parade today. And the defender is missing out on what is going to be a very special day in London for an incredibly harsh reason. Carter, who stepped back from social media during Euro 2025 due to receiving abhorrent racist abuse, was one of England's standout performers at the tournament. She starred in defence in the final against Spain, playing a crucial role in the Lionesses remarkably retaining their title. But during the squad's trip to Downing Street following their flight back to England, fans noticed she was surprisingly absent. Carter will now not be part of Tuesday's festivities either. .. Carter is not at the Lionesses' open-top bus parade around London as she has returned to play for her club side. The 27-year-old plays for Gotham FC in the USA and it has been revealed that the club didn't give her any extra time off. Gotham are in NWSL action on Saturday and they wanted her back to feature in their game against the Chicago Stars. It meant she instantly returned to the US to prepare for her return to club football, missing the Downing Street party. And now she's being forced to miss the major celebrations in the capital as England celebrate their Euro 2025 glory. Lionesses Esme Morgan and Anna Moorhouse both also play for clubs across the pond, but it appears that they have been given permission to stay and celebrate. Carter is sadly going to miss out on what is set to be a brilliant day, with the parade expected to start from 12: 10pm. The open-top bus will travel along The Mall and it will end at the Queen Victoria Memorial in front of Buckingham Palace. There will be a ceremony on a stage, which is scheduled to start at 12: 30pm and last for around half an hour. The parade and celebrations will give the Lionesses a perfect chance to party with thousands of fans in London. Sarina Wiegman, Leah Williamson and co. will lift the Euro 2025 trophy in front of the supporters in attendance. Ex-England star Alex Scott will be hosting the stage ceremony. As well as being able to celebrate with the glorious Lionesses squad, fans will be able to enjoy plenty more beforehand. The free-to-attend event will have live music being played by DJ Char Stape on the stage outside Buckingham Palace. The Band of His Majesty's Royal Marines Portsmouth and the Central Band of the Royal Air Force will also be performing. Euro 2025 highlights will be shown on a big screen too. For those who are unable to make it to the trophy parade, they will still be able to catch all the action at home. The title celebration will be broadcast across the BBC, ITV and Sky from 12pm and talk SPORT will keep you up to date with the latest. © 2025 talk SPORT Limited
