By LEWIS STEELE, FOOTBALL REPORTER Published: 23: 57 AEDT, 11 November 2025 | Updated: 05: 21 AEDT, 12 November 2025 19 View comments Liverpool fan favourite Andy Robertson says he is relaxed about his future, with the Scotsman's contract set to expire in the summer – and says his main focus is enjoying what may be his final months. Robertson, who will be 32 at the end of the season, has played 354 times for the Reds during an illustrious eight years at the club in which he has won every trophy available and became widely regarded as one of the best left backs of his era. But as was often discussed last year with Virgil van Dijk, Mohamed Salah and Trent Alexander-Arnold out of contract, Liverpool often do not extend contracts of players into their 30s, which means Robertson could be reaching the end of his tenure. 'I think last season everyone was bored of talking about the three lads, but for me the relationship between me and the club has been a wonderful one, ' he said. 'They've done everything for me in terms of me and my family. 'I think I've not been too bad for them in terms of signing from Hull for £8million and what I've done. Whatever happens will happen behind closed doors and I'm relaxed about the whole situation. 'If it is my last year, then it's my last year. If it's not, then so be it. But I think obviously I had a bit of a stressful summer in terms of decisions and things like that. ' Andy Robertson is in the final year of his current contract at Liverpool but is feeling relaxed The Reds vice-captain is currently in a battle with Milos Kerkez for the left-back starting spot Robertson was referring to a proposal from Atletico Madrid to sign him in the summer which he considered, especially after Liverpool had signed new left back Milos Kerkez for £40million from Bournemouth. The new Hungarian started the first nine Premier League games but Robertson has earned his place back in the last fortnight by starting four games in a row including wins over Crystal Palace and Manchester City. Robertson added: 'I've said to myself to just try and enjoy the next few months and then obviously it will start probably taking over my life. 'I've got no doubt about that. That's what happens when you go into your last six months. I'm just trying to focus on football now. 'I am delighted to be back on the pitch, delighted to be back playing the last few games. That's important and let's see what happens. But I'm relaxed about the whole thing and the club has been amazing for me. ' Robertson was awarded the vice-captaincy in the summer after his good mate Alexander-Arnold left for Real Madrid. He joins fellow defender Ibrahima Konate, 26, as a player going into his final six or so months at the club as things stand.
