Chelsea midfielder Romeo Lavia wants to trial individual player walk outs in the Premier League. One-by-one entrances are traditionally associated with the NBA, but at the newly revamped Club World Cup each team player comes out separately with the stadium announcer calling them on to the field. The practice started in the opening game, with a huge roar at the Hard Rock Stadium as Lionel Messi appeared, and it is to continue throughout the tournament across all games. It has led to matches kicking off slightly later than their advertised timings, which is commonplace in most American sports. Belgium international Lavia is all for adding a little glamour and drama to entering the field, even if it the football doesn’t start right away. "I think it's something special and new for us, ” he told talk SPORT. “It's a first for us. I enjoyed it. Why not bring it to the Premier League? "I mean, it's a bit of a showbiz thing, isn't it? I quite like it. The only difference is [if we did it in the Premier League], we might get a bit cold because once you're out there, you have to wait for maybe the other players.   “But apart from that, it was good. I guess we always learn new things from international tournaments and that's what makes it special. " Chelsea began their Club World Cup campaign with a 2-0 victory over Los Angeles FC in Atlanta thanks to goals from Pedro Neto and Enzo Fernandez. Lavia played the first half before being replaced by Fernandez. Chelsea head coach Enzo Maresca has been keen to protect the 21-year-old following a series of hamstring injuries last season. Lavia featured just 16 times in the Premier League as Chelsea qualified for the Champions League, and he was not included in their Europa Conference League squad due to load management. In contrast, Chelsea's Player of the Season Moises Caicedo played in all 38 Premier League games and both started and scored in the 4-1 win over Real Betis in Poland. Lavia is hoping to put an injury-plagued season behind him and believes he is capable of being ever-present next season. "That’s what we are all working towards [being able to play every match], ” he said. “Going off at half time [against Los Angeles] was just about managing minutes. There's no physical issue or anything. I feel very good, confident in my body and in what we can achieve [as a team] as well. "I am not thinking too far ahead. It's just about taking each game as it comes and then doing everything possible to stay fit, and playing as many games as possible. That's what I am working towards.   “I think the biggest 'credit' a footballer can have is to be available. It's definitely something I'm aware of. So I do everything possible to stay fit.   “Honestly, all the injuries I have had before, I just want to put them behind me and look forward to the future feeling good. So I don't know why I should be thinking about the injuries.
