Jahmai Simpson-Pusey is ready to show his "talent" and his "levels" after joining Celtic on a season-long loan from Manchester City. The England Under-18 international captained City to victory in the 2024 FA Youth Cup final and was brought into the first-team fold by Pep Guardiola last season when injuries hit his senior ranks. He made six senior appearances last term, starting in both the Premier League and Champions League. However, Simpson-Pusey was not involved at first-team level from January and ended the campaign leading City to a Premier League 2 play-off final victory over Southampton. "It's such a big club and I'm happy to come here, play in front of the fans and play for the team, " he said of his move to Celtic. "This is a big opportunity. I want to come here and show my talent and my levels. "It'll be good for me to come and hopefully help the team to win the league again and do well in Europe. " What did we learn from Tierney's Celtic return? Scottish sides learn European play-off draws Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers has spoken repeatedly about the need to strengthen his squad for the season ahead and the Northern Irishman believes Simpson-Pusey is ready to make a positive impact for the Scottish Premiership champions. "I am really pleased we have been able to bring Jahmai to Celtic, and I believe he will be an important, quality addition to our squad, " Rodgers said. "Jahmai is a quick, dominant centre-half. He is a strong defender but can also move the ball forward very well as we progress through the pitch. "I know Jahmai is excited about this move and bringing him to the club creates even more competition which will only benefit us. "I am sure he will settle in well with the squad as we get ready for the matches we have coming up at home and abroad.
