City have secured three new outfield faces - Rayan Ait-Nouri and Rayan Cherki also signing this week - for around £115m after saying they walked away from a deal for Florian Wirtz over finances. Wirtz is putting the finishing touches to a British record switch to Liverpool, while City focused their attention on Cherki at Lyon in that position. Reijnders, the energetic central midfielder, should form a crucial part of City’s rebuild in an area of the pitch they struggled last season. The Holland international underwent his medical at the weekend before linking back up with his international team-mates ahead of Tuesday night’s 8-0 victory over Malta.
