The Red Devils are looking to offload Sancho after Chelsea paid a £5million fee at the end of his loan to escape their £25m obligation to sign him. Sancho has not played for United in the Premier League since August 2023 after an explosive falling-out with then-manager Erik Ten Hag. For the 23-time England international, this was a move to the club he had supported as a child and a chance to rebuild his reputation after a middling spell at United. United signed Sancho for £73m in 2021 after being impressed by his scintillating form at Borussia Dortmund, but he never reached the heights he had in Germany. Sancho proved has still has quality in his locker at Chelsea, as seen in his daring run and stunning finish from outside the box against Tottenham in December.
