The player has struggled for minutes under Eddie Howe this season, having missed last summer's pre-season tour due to a metarsal fracture. He did not return until October 2024, and has since found it difficult to break into Newcastle's starting XI behind the imperious midfield trio of Bruno Guimaraes, Sandro Tonali and Joelinton. Lewis Miley was one of Newcastle’s success stories last season, making 19 starts and a further nine appearances off the bench in his breakthrough campaign. But as Miley's progress has been stifled in 2024-25, clubs around Europe have garnered a strong interest in the 18-year-old, as per Fabrizio Romano. The Durham-born talent has four years left on his current deal, which expires in June 2029.
