Both on the board's watch. West Ham will never be a happy place until the board resigns. Barry I was at the City Ground. We were different gravy. London Stadium does not seem to serve us and Nuno will need to solve that hoodoo. Low block playing on the break to come. We need to be difficult to beat first and foremost. Click 'Get Involved' at the top of this page to have your say It makes me wonder whether Potter already knew he was being 'relieved of his duties' before his press conference this week as his demeanour seemed unusually relaxed and not a man who is in the brink of being sacked! Ryan From Conference League winners in 2023 to 19th in the Premier League. .. David Moyes broke club records during his second stint in the dugout at West Ham, winning a record 19 Premier League matches and amassing a record 65 points in 2020-21 with another record +15 goal difference on their way to a sixth-place finish. West Ham will now have had three managers in a calendar year. During Moyes' first stint at West Ham, he managed Joe Hart as the goalkeeper joined the Hammers on loan during the 2017-18 campaign. It’s disgusting but it’s how it is and they get paid enough money to put up and shut up! Tom, York James Jones West Ham fan writer Where do we go from here? A little over two years on from winning the Conference League, West Ham are now in crisis. Two failed managerial appointments, several poor investments in the transfer market, a team without an identity and fans protesting against the board. The Conference League triumph was supposed to be the springboard for further growth. Instead, the complete opposite has happened. Fans rightly protested against David Sullivan and Karren Brady before Saturday's 2-1 home defeat by Crystal Palace. The current situation is the result of the club having no obvious idea of what it wants to be. There is no identity. There appears to be no strategy. Fans understandably want answers, and they won't rest until they get them. Indeed, there has been a lot of investment both on and off the pitch, but it appears much of it came without any real plan. We'll break off from Graham Potter reaction for a moment – there's an actual, real-life Premier League game on this lunchtime. Matthew Hobbs BBC Sport Once upon a time, in the not-too-distant past, a section of West Ham fans were questioning the effectiveness of David Moyes' style of football, despite a second spell which heralded the club's first trophy in 43 years in winning the Europa Conference League two years ago, along with three qualifications for Europe. Triumphing against Fiorentina in Prague was not enough to ensure Moyes extended his stay in east London. The club confirmed his departure in May 2024 - hours after reports had surfaced suggesting that former Wolves boss Julen Lopetegui had agreed a deal to replace Moyes, who was coming to the end of his current contract. Moyes has since claimed that an offer of a new deal had been made in December 2023 following a 2-0 win at Arsenal, but it was reportedly withdrawn by the West Ham hierarchy after three heavy defeats in a row the following February. Perspective, though, is everything in football management. At the time West Ham confirmed that Moyes would leave the club, they had won once in 10 matches - but the Hammers were still ninth in the Premier League and had made the quarter-finals of the Europa League in a third successive season of European football. Fast forward to September 2025. West Ham currently sit in the Premier League relegation zone having lost 12 of their 23 games since Graham Potter was appointed in January. Potter's loss rate of 52% is the highest of any permanent West Ham manager in the Premier League era. Nuno Espirito Santo does not have very long to prepare for his first game, with the Hammers traveling to Everton on Monday. The next home game is against Brentford immediately after the international break. Click 'Get Involved' at the top of this page to have your say Potter had to go, results weren't there, dressing room was lost and the farce on social media over the last few days is something you can't come back from. Hoping Nuno can be swiftly appointed and start getting us up the table! James Graham Potter leaves just eight months after succeeding Julen Lopetegui. He won six and lost 14 of his 25 games in charge all competitions. Only Avram Grant (0. 9) had a lower points-per-game average in the Premier League among permanent West Ham managers than the former Brighton and Chelsea boss (1. 0). Matthew Hobbs BBC Sport Following the 2-1 home defeat to Crystal Palace last weekend, Match of the Day pundit Wayne Rooney said that West Ham were in a crisis of confidence where it "feels like the whole world is against you". The problem for the Hammers is that a paucity of chances in attack has been exacerbated by defensive failings – particularly from corners. They have let in 13 Premier League goals overall from an expected goals tally of just 7. 8 – the worst negative differential in the league. They have also conceded seven goals from corners - just one fewer than they did in the whole of last term and at least four more than any other side this season. Click 'Get Involved' at the top of this page to have your say If they knew that they'd got Nuno, then letting Potter do the presser was verging on the sadistic in my opinion. Michael Since Graham Potter's first game in charge (14 January), West Ham have won fewer points than any other ever-present Premier League side (23). Simon Stone BBC Sport Chief Football News Reporter West Ham are hopeful a deal with Nuno Espirito Santo will be done and his appointment confirmed today.
