By Dominic King At Selhurst Park Arne Slot, Liverpool head coach, speaking to Sky Sports: Look who is bringing the vibes at Crystal Palace. Jean-Philippe Mateta could genuinely have his own TV show, and I would 100 per cent lock in and watch it. The guy is the main man in all of Palace's social media content for a reason, and once again, he shows why here. Such entertaining content I'm not sure what it is about Crystal Palace, but they just know how to take points off Liverpool. They have always been their bogey team. The Reds have won just two of their eight games against Crystal Palace in all competitions since the start of 2022-23 (D4 L2). This is their joint-fewest wins against any opponent they have faced four or more times in this period. They play them in the League Cup next month, too. .. Daniel Farke, Leeds United manager, on BBC Sport: Max de Cuyper, Brighton goalscorer, speaking to PLP: On Chelsea's red card helping the Seagulls: On Danny Welbeck: Chelsea have had a honking seven days. First they lose to one of the worst Manchester United sides we have ever seen, and then they get well-beaten in their own backyard by Brighton. They were cruising at half-time and it seemed like the game was only going one way after Enzo Fernandez's opener. But bang, everything went Pete Tong after Trevoh Chalobah's red card. Chelsea lost by 2+ goals, having been ahead at half-time in a Premier League home game for the first time since October 2011 against Arsenal (5-3). Eight points from six is not a good start to the season. Eddie Nketiah, Crystal Palace matchwinner, on Sky Sports: There is only one team that remains unbeaten in the Premier League this season, and it's not Liverpool. Crystal Palace are now 18 games unbeaten. The team that Oliver Glasner has built is incredible, and the fact that they are outplaying teams like Liverpool, having sold Eberechi Eze, speaks volumes about how good he is as a coach. They ripped Liverpool apart for large parts of that match and were unlucky not to have put them to bed before half-time. They are now second in the league, just three points behind the Reds. Title charge? These pictures tell you all you need to know. Absolute euphoria. I wonder how the Liverpool players feel right now? Well, their bench was absolutely fuming when the goal went in because it was two minutes after the allotted stoppage time was up. But we all know the rules, 'a minumum of six minutes'. This is maybe what Liverpool needed. We all knew that their luck wouldn't last forever. You can't keep dropping stinkers and getting away with it. Crystal Palace deserved the points, and what a way to do it. My word. Football, blooming heck. What a sport. The story of the season has been Liverpool and their late winners, and they looked like they had pulled it off again with a late leveller. But no, Crystal Palace do to the Reds what they have done to so many by scoring with the very last kick of the game. Simply incredible. WOW, WOW, WOW! Crystal Palace hand Liverpool a taste of their own medicine, and Selhurst Park goes absolutely bananas. Eddie Nektiah has won it right at the death for the Eagles, and the Reds fightback comes to nothing. What an end. Is there to be more late drama? We are deep into stoppage time here, where that has been six minutes, and surely time is running out for a winner. Another awful day for Chelsea. Game, set, and match! It's two for Danny Welbeck, and Chelsea have been well and truly beaten at the Bridge. Yet more limbs in the away end. Heartbreak for Leeds. Easy does it for Manchester City. Five goals and a five-star second half from the Cityzens to return to winning ways. And another one! LIVERPOOL HAVE DONE IT AGAIN! You can never, ever, count these champions out, and it's Federico Chiesa to the rescue. He turns home Ryan Gravenberch's cross, picks up the ball, and now they are off to try and find a winner. They couldn't, could they? LATE DRAMA AT ELLAND ROAD! Bournemouth have broken the Leeds resistance and its young Kroupi who smashes home. What a moment. Erling Haaland gets his goal! FPL managers around the country - including me - will be relieved to see the Norwegian has got in on the act. It's a superb finish. BRIGHTON HAVE TURNED IT AROUND! Max De Cuyper has surely won it for Brighton in stoppage time. The Seagulls have been knocking at the door; in fact, they have been hammering at it, and De Cuyper knocks it down with his head. Limbs in the away end. How is that not a penalty? Chelsea really got away with one as the Malo Gusto challenge is reviewed, and the penalty isn't given. I'm stunned. He literally kicks Yankuba Minteh in the head. Ohhhhh. .. . It's all kicking off at Stamford Bridge. I feel like I am watching a mix of rugby and wrestling as there is a huge melee. It all comes after Malo Gusto kicks Yankuba Minteh in the head inside teh area, and no penalty is given. Lewis Dunk and Benoit Badiashile then get into it, and the gloves are off. Another chance goes begging for Liverpool. Liverpool's last-minute juju looks like it may have run out as now Mohamed Salah turns over the bar. It doesn't feel like the Reds are going to get this leveller. .. This has become an all-too-familiar occurrence. Florian Wirtz is trudging off with the look of a beaten man, it's been another tough day for him. Federico Chiesa replaces the German while Jeremie Frimpong replaces Ibrahima Konate. Arne Slot is going for it. It's all Liverpool now. The Reds really are pushing, and once again Alexander Isak has the chance to equalise. But he nods a looping ball over the bar following a corner, and there is yet more frustration for the champions. HE MAKES NO MISTAKE THIS TIME! Danny Welbeck is given another big chance, and this time he takes it to bring Brighton level. Yankuba Minteh whips in a delightful ball, Welbeck gets on the end of it and he makes no mistake. All level. This just isn't Liverpool's day. Even Alexander Isak is missing big chances now; it seems the bug has infected everybody. Alexis Mac Allister sends him in, you just think the Swede is going to score, but he fires wide. The Reds' winning run looks set to come to an end today. Oh, Danny Welbeck. .. big chance. The Brighton striker simply has to score as the ball drops to him and he turns, but no, he fires wide. I thought that was in for a second, I really did. I've just watched that Florian Wirtz chance back, and I have no idea how he hasn't scored. Make no qualms about it, that's a sitter. It's a miss that sums up his Liverpool career so far. He was three yards out, there is no way he should be seeing that shot saved. So poor. Oh dear, oh dear, oh dear. .. It has just not been Maxime Esteve's day, the poor lad puts into the back of his own net for the second time today. Two goals in five minutes, and Manchester City look set to get back to winning ways. How is it not 1-1? ? Florian Wirtz thinks his time has finally come as he smashes the ball at goal from close range, following good work from Dominik Szoboszlai. But no, Dean Henderson somehow denies him from point-blank range, it's one hell of a save. Wirtz can't believe it. Against the run of play! Burnley have been knocking at the door, but it's Manchester City who go back in front. Matheus Nunes doesn't get many goals, but my word, this is a brilliant strike from the Portuguese star. He smashes the ball into the roof of the net with some venom. Virgil van Dijk is not a happy bunny whatsoever. He is absolutely popping off on the referee after the flag wasn't raised when Jean-Philippe Mateta was clearly offside. The striker ends up seeing his effort saved by Alisson, but it doesn't stop the Dutchman laying into the ref. Alexander Isak has finally woken up. The striker barely had a kick in the first half, but he is popping up everywhere early in this second period. He has another dig, but this time he only succeeds in sweeping the ball comfortably over the bar. It wouldn't have counted anyway, as Mohamed Salah was offside in the build-up. Oh, that's a big chance. We are back underway at Selhurst Park, and Alexander Isak comes so close to netting an equaliser. Dean Henderson has a howler failing to clear the ball, and is then beaten to it by Isak, but he can't head home. Meanwhile, Cody Gakpo has come on for Conor Bradley. WHAT A HIT! Sean Longstaff has turned this game on its head and Elland Road has gone absolutely balmy. The ball falls kindly for the midfielder and he absolutely whallops it into the top corner. No saving that. He simply had to go. Trevoh Chalobah is given his marching orders for denying a goalscoring opportunity. It was a really bad challenge. Suddenly, Brighton have a vested interest in this game. It's all happening at Stamford Bridge. I was just about to type about how Reece James had twsited his ankle and was in a spot of bother, but then Trevoh Chalobah does something crazy. He absolutely flies through Diego Gomez, and surely this has to be a red card. VAR is checking. Right then, here we go again. Three of our 3pm kick-offs have gotten back underway, with Selhurst Park the only one not to see footie being played yet. Let's hope for an entertaining next hour, eh? By Harry Bamforth Chris Sutton, former Chelsea striker, on BBC Sport: Wow, what a half that was from Crystal Palace. We could easily sit here and berate Liverpool for putting in a stinking display, but we should praise Palace instead. The hosts have been superb, ripping the Reds apart at will, and they should be home and dry already. But somehow, the leaders are still in the fight. This is one hell of a game, it really is. While Liverpool have been poor, they are still giving this game a right go and trying to fashion chances. Mohamed Salah looks like he is through and he goes to try and lob Dean Henderson, but the keeper is having none of it. It's fair to say, he foils Salah's plan. Oh my word, what a strike that is! Crystal Palace are absolutely smoking Liverpool here, and I have no idea how they only lead by one. Mateta tries an outrageous effort, bending one toward the top corner, and it clatters the post. I thought that was in. Well, well, well. Manchester City's struggles continue as Burnley have pegged them back here at the Etihad. Erling Haaland has been anonymous, and he looks miffed as the whistle goes. So far, so good for Chelsea. Who needs Cole Palmer? The Blues have been brilliant, and one goal doesn't feel enough for that display. Coasting against the Seagulls. All square in Yorkshire at the break. Bournemouth took the lead, but Joe Rodon has made sure this game is perfectly poised. Much more to come from this one. My word, that's a lot of additional time. There are going to be 10 minutes of stoppage time here at Selhurst Park due to the long break in play due to a medical emergency. Liverpool are starting to grow back into this. I mean, they really should be level as Ibrahima Konate misses a gilt-edged header in acres of space. But even so, the Reds are starting to enjoy more of the ball, and are finding their rhythm. Can they pull level before the break? Ello, ello, ello. .. Who saw this coming, eh? Burnley are level at the Etihad, and Manchester City are stunned. City are the architects of their own downfall as they give the ball away at the back, Burley flanks forward in numbers, and Jaidon Anthony slides home. We are level at the Etihad. Leeds are level! Elland Road has lift off as Joe Rodon latches on to Sean Logstaff's corner and heads home. At last, they stick one of their chances away! Drama, drama, drama. There is certainly no love lost between Kyle Walker and his former Man City team-mates. First, he is wiped out after fouling Phil Foden and has to receive treatment off the pitch - it looked like a nasty one - and then he sprints on too early and the City players are screaming for him to be sent off for a second yellow. Nice to know that friendships at clubs don't matter that much, eh? Liverpool really are looking ropey. They haven't exactly been at their best this season, but this is by far their worst performance of the lot. Crystal Palace are taking them to school here. Football, eh? For all of Leeds chances, it's Bournemouth who take the lead here at Elland Road, and guess who? That's right, FPL favourite Antoine Semenyo finds the back of the net via a free-kick, and it's some hit. Leeds pay the ultimate price. Where would Liverpool be without Alisson? I mean, they would be getting battered if it wasn't for the Brazilian. I mean it, BATTERED. Alisson saves the day to deny Jean-Philippe Mateta, who is one-on-one, and he keeps Liverpool in this game. The Reds aere all over the gaff. Chelsea hit the front! What a goal it is, as Enzo Fernandez finishes off a stunning team move to give the Blues a deserved lead. Fernandez has the easiest job of it all to head home, and you have to say it had been coming. We are back underway at Selhurst Park. Dean Henderson is called straight into action after the six-minute delay and has to tip a stinging strike onto the post from Ryan Gravenberch. It's one hell of an effort, and the rebound then falls to Milos Kerkez who blazes miles over. Meanwhile, the fan affected by the medical emergency has been taken out of teh stadium to receive the treatment they need. Erm, maybe it's not Phil Foden's goal. Replays show that Maxime Esteve may have got the final touch, and it could have been an own goal. Based on Phil Foden's celebration, though, I'm surprised. he seemed convinced he had scored. By Dominic King At Selhurst Park Two in two for Phil Foden! The Manchester City man looks back to his very best once more, and he opens the scoring at the Etihad. The midfielder is on hand to smash home from close range, and City didn't have to be that patient after all. How many can they get, then? Crystal Palace are tearing Liverpool apart here. It's very nearly two, but Alisson comes up trumps to save the Premier League champions. Ismailar Sarr tears down the wing, slides to across to Yeremy Pino, and he just can't beat the Brazilian in goal. Palace are flying here. Ismaila Sarr is at it again against Liverpool! The winger has caused the Reds so many problems over the years, and he scores for the second time against them this season. A corner is nodded back across goal and Sarr is in acres of space to smash the ball into an empty net. The league leaders trail early. Well, there hasn't exactly been a breakneck speed to this one, or the majority of the 3pm games, to be fair. City are going to know exactly how Liverpool felt a few weeks ago as Burnley park the bus. Proving tough to break down at the moment. Not too much to report on from south London. Liverpool are just knocking the ball about but don't exactly look threatening, thus far. Florian Wirtz is very clearly playing down the left, which is a different role to what we have seen him play so far this season. Can he thrive there? Ohhhh. .. what a start that would have been! Dominic Calvert-Lewin can't believe he hasn't put Leeds ahead already, and I mean, he probably should have. The striker is clipped through over the top, and he looks for the bottom corner, but he doesn't quite get a hold of the ball and is denied. This game has started ferociously quickly. Are we all excited? I know I am. We are in for a belter of an afternoon in the Premier League, and the fun starts here. All four 3pm games are now underway. If I were a Chelsea fan, I would be confident. Yeah, yeah, they were pants last week and are without Cole Palmer, but that shouldn't matter. Why? Well, they have a great record at home against Brighton. In all competitions, Chelsea have won nine and lost just one of their 12 previous home games against Brighton and Hove Albion (D2), winning their last three in a row since a 1-2 reverse in April 2023. Can they continue that run today? Chris Sutton, former Chelsea striker, on BBC Sport: I've seen worse. It does look a bit like a prison cell, though. The best in history? Almost certainly. FA Cup winners, playing in European competitions for the first time and 90 minutes from matching the longest unbeaten run in the club's history. There's serious top-six potential about the Eagles. Arne Slot has found a way to field his trusted midfield three while also getting new signing Florian Wirtz into the starting XI. It means that the German will be taking up a new role for the afternoon, starting in the left wing position, normally played by Cody Gakpo. Wirtz did a lot of his best work for Bayer Leverkusen in an advanced left wing position and I reckon the move is going to result in a greater balance to the Reds and more production from the 22-year-old. Arne Slot, Liverpool boss, pre-match presser: Sound the crisis claxon because the Red Devils have lost again. That's three defeats in their first six matches of the season. They have been beaten 3-1 by Brentford, who now join them on seven points. United could find themselves down in 17th by the end of the weekend. Surely, this can't go on? Cue the Mick Mc Carthy clip. .. By Tum Balogun Here's some footage of the visitors arriving at the ground earlier. This is a real test for Slot's men. They've racked up 15 points from their first five games without playing well for an extended period. For now, we can all say 'oh, that's the sign of champions, ' but that view quickly changes if they are outclassed in a game like today. That's not to say that Palace aren't formidable opponents, just that there won't be much mitigation if they don't show their best selves. By Tum Balogun Pep Guardiola, Man City boss, pre-match presser: By Tum Balogun Chelsea will be without Cole Palmer until after the next international break at least, with Enzo Maresca now having to cope with an injury crisis knocking on double-digit casualties. As well as Palmer missing their next three matches versus Brighton and Liverpool in the Premier League and Benfica in the Champions League due to his groin issue, Maresca has revealed Tosin Adarabioyo and Wesley Fofana will likewise miss the same period. CLICK BELOW TO READ MORE: By Tum Balogun Oliver Glaner, Palace boss, pre-match presser: By Tum Balogun Liverpool have won nine and drawn one of the last 10 league visits, the exception being in February 2023. They have scored at least twice in eight of the last 10 league visits to Palace, and they have failed to score in only two of the last 24 league meetings home and away. Both Liverpool’s biggest-ever top-flight home and away wins have come against Crystal Palace (9-0 at Anfield in 1989 and 7-0 at Selhurst Park in 2022). The home win has now since been equalled against Bournemouth. Mo Salah needs just two goals to bring up 250 for Liverpool in all games. Liverpool claimed a 1-0 win at Selhurst Park last season and their match-winner was the late Diogo Jota. By Tum Balogun The Liverpool manager, who claimed the league title in his first season at the club, has the chance to make history today. The Dutchman sits on 97 points from his first 43 matches at the helm. With one more win, he will take his tally to 100 and, if it's achieved against the Eagles, he'll become the quickest boss to reach the mark in Reds history. I mean, that's pretty crazy! By Tum Balogun A frequent tormentor of the Reds, Sarr returns from a spell on the sidelines to start this afternoon's clash. There's also another start for summer signing Pino. I think I fancy Palace for this one. By Tum Balogun The most expensive player in British football history gets his first start this afternoon against the Eagles. Elsewhere, the comparatively bargain Florian Wirtz comes back into the starting XI in place for Gakpo. By Tum Balogun So here is the list of the four matches taking place this afternoon. In addition to the Reds' trip to Palace, we've also got a Cole Palmer-less Chelsea welcoming Brighton to Stamford Bridge, Kyle Walker making his first return to Manchester City with Burnley and Leeds taking on Bournemouth. There are certainly a couple of clashes there to get excited about. By Tum Balogun Well, not really. Crystal Palace welcome Liverpool to Selhurst Park this afternoon in a meeting of the only two remaining unbeaten sides in the division. Of course, a draw would keep their respective records intact, but no one really wants that. The trip to south London is a tricky one for the league leaders, who have triumphed in each of their first five league matches. Palace are actually unbeaten in their last 17 matches. If Glasner's men can avoid defeat today, they'll equal their longest unbeaten run in history. The Austrian has done a tremendous job since his appointment and has guided the Eagles to fifth in the standings after their first five. Add in the fact that Palace and Liverpool seem to play each other every other week these days, and we've got a very intriguing clash to look forward to. While the game at Selhurst will be the focus of our coverage, we'll also be bringing you updates from the other three matches taking place this afternoon. So make sure you stay tuned for all the action! Liverpool get a taste of their own medicine. We'll. ..
