He wants to take the ball. He’s comfortable in possession. They need to get him on the ball more. Preston 0-0 Blackburn Ryan Alebiosu and Thierry Small are going to be sick of the sight of each other by full time. They have faced each other the full length of the pitch down the Preston left with both doing their respective jobs impressively. Both have managed to get dangerous crosses in while also standing up defensively. Preston 0-0 Blackburn Preston have had nine shots on goal so far but only two of them have forced saves from Aynsley Pears. At the other end, Daniel Iversen is yet to be extended. We've got 10 minutes until the break - the brilliant atmosphere by the way has not let up at all. Preston 0-0 Blackburn Paul Gallagher Former Preston midfielder on BBC Radio Lancashire That’s what Michael Smith brings you. He’s great in both boxes. Preston 0-0 Blackburn Andy Bayes BBC Radio Lancashire commentator Should be put away and isn’t. Heroic defending from (George) Pratt and a stunning save from Aynsley Pears. Preston 0-0 Blackburn Brilliant from Aynsley Pears in the Blackburn goal. Michael Smith is on the end of a cross to the far post and Pears is down to his left to make an initial save and then George Pratt superbly blocks the follow up. That's the closest we've come to a goal. Preston 0-0 Blackburn Yuki Ohashi gets the ball out from under his feet and lets fly but it's deflected and behind for a corner. The set piece is again dealt with by the Preston defence. Better from the visitors. Preston 0-0 Blackburn Some more good possession from Blackburn doesn't produce an effort on goal but does earn a free-kick just beyond the midway point of the Preston half. This is a decent chance to get a ball into the box. It's not great and the home side clear. Preston 0-0 Blackburn Kevin Gallacher Former Blackburn striker on BBC Radio Lancashire I’d just like to see Blackburn be a bit more aggressive in the final third. Be positive. Get your fans on their feet. Preston 0-0 Blackburn Alfie Devine crashes a shot straight into the face of Blackburn skipper Sean Mc Loughlin. Referee Paul Tierney stops the game while Mc Loughlin is checked over. He seems ok but will have to go off before rejoining the fray. Preston 0-0 Blackburn George Pratt, on his Blackburn debut, was being targeted early on at the heart of the visitors' defence. He's had a few good touches now to settle any nerves. Pratt's last senior game was for Chorley in a 2-1 loss at Peterborough Sports in front of 248 spectators - it's a bit different tonight. Preston 0-0 Blackburn Andy Bayes BBC Radio Lancashire commentator [George] Pratt with a good challenge. He’s had a good start at the back, the youngster. Well managed clubs (boardroom/ownership) can prosper season in/out. If Bournemouth can do it, almost any club can. Martin Bebbington, Manchester Preston 0-0 Blackburn Now, Yuki Ohashi is down injured for Blackburn. Oh hang on - he motions to the physio he got a finger in the eye and he needs to change a contact lens - how very 21st century! He's better at putting them in than I was - we'd be stopping the game for 20 minutes otherwise. .. Preston 0-0 Blackburn More good work down the left from Thierry Small but his cross is thrashed over the bar by Lewis Dobbin. Small and Ryan Alebiosu are having a right old battle on that side of the pitch with the Blackburn man also getting forward to force the Preston man into some defensive work. Preston 0-0 Blackburn Andy Bayes BBC Radio Lancashire commentator The Blackburn Rovers wing-back is sending [Thierry] Small back more than the other way. Preston 0-0 Blackburn Andrew Hughes sends a ball over the top for Lewis Dobbin to run onto but Blackburn goalkeeper Aynsley Pears has a good starting position just inside his area to beat the Preston forward to the ball and make the catch. Good to see the long 'pass' back in fashion. Preston 0-0 Blackburn Paul Gallagher Former Preston midfielder on BBC Radio Lancashire Ben Whiteman should be dictating the game really because he’s a very good football player. Preston 0-0 Blackburn Preston goalkeeper Daniel Iversen has to come out to claim a Ryan Alebiosu cross with Andri

Gudjohnsen lurking at the far post. The visitors certainly pose a threat going forward - their issue is a lack of experienced numbers at the back. Preston 0-0 Blackburn Andy Bayes BBC Radio Lancashire commentator It’s been 100 mile-per-hour stuff, is it going to settle down in the next few moments? We’ll see. Lewis Miller heads home Blackburn's opener against Preston Andri Gudjohnsen headed home a second-half winner as Blackburn stunned Preston at Deepdale to dent North End's promotion hopes. Preston would have climbed to second in the Championship if they had won this Lancashire derby, but away-day specialists Blackburn put paid to those ambitions. Lewis Miller headed Blackburn in front with his first Rovers goal just before half-time but Preston caught the visitors napping to level through Alfie Devine 80 seconds later. However, back came Blackburn and Valerien Ismael's side deservedly won when Gudjohnsen headed home his fourth goal in five league games to clinch their fifth Championship away win - a tally only leaders Coventry can match. Rovers soaked up early Preston pressure and goalkeeper Aynsley Pears denied Lewis Dobbin when he parried the North End midfielder's left-footed effort. Pears rescued Rovers again when he saved Michael Smith's shot with his left hand at full stretch and debutant George Pratt, recalled on loan from National League North side Chorley on the eve of the game, made a crucial block from the rebound. From there, Blackburn cranked up the pressure and North End keeper Daniel Iversen saved from both Sean Mc Loughlin and Ryoya Morishita before the visitors took the lead on 45 minutes. Ryan Hedges swung over a corner for Australian Miller to head home from inside the six-yard box. But Blackburn went to sleep after their hard work to allow Preston to equalise almost immediately in first-half stoppage time. Dobbin touched the ball on for on-loan Tottenham midfielder Devine to squeeze his shot home, despite Rovers' desperate attempts to hack it clear. After the break, Iversen saved Yuki Ohashi's shot before Gudjohnsen – son of former Chelsea and Bolton striker Eidur – restored Rovers' lead on 62 minutes. Morishita sent over a free-kick to the back post, where Gudjohnsen headed home from close range. Preston faded badly, failing to summon a real chance of an equaliser, and Iversen made a key save to prevent a Blackburn third, touching away Morishita's angled drive for a corner before the Japan winger flashed another effort across goal and wide. This video can not be played Blackburn boss Valerien Ismael: "We showed all the faces you need in the Championship. "You have to stay strong, you have to suffer, you have to play football and you need set-pieces. The game was the Championship clearly defined. "We were able in all phases of the game to show the quality and what we've learned from all the games. Now the next step is the home games. We struggle to win at home. The performance is right but we are not winning. "This is what is missing this season. If we can combine it now this will be good for our confidence and momentum. " This video can not be played Heckingbottom: 'Today I think it was on us' Preston manager Paul Heckingbottom: "It's a tough one. Sometimes you come off having given your best and really pleased with how you played and hold your hands up, but I think that one is on us. "You're on top and you miss your chances then you give two set-play goals away. You're going to have to do something special to win the game so we're disappointed with those two elements. "We were wasteful in the first 30 minutes when we were on top. They had a good five minutes before they scored but no chances, so for us to concede from a set-play is disappointing. "We wanted to start the second half the way we started the first, but I didn't really think we did. We made the changes, but then conceded the set-play straight away so it puts you on the back foot. It was a difficult night. " After the opportunity to rate players has closed, the score displayed represents the average from all the submissions by BBC Sport users.
