We'll be back before you know it. FT: Rangers 4-2 Hearts Hearts boss Derek Mc Innes also gave an update on injured striker Lawrence Shankland and midfielder Cammy Devlin. "Lawrence will probably be the back end of March, " he said. "Cammy's got a chance of being back for Aberdeen [on 28 February]. " FT: Rangers 4-2 Hearts Hearts head coach Derek Mc Innes tells BBC Scotland: "Obviously disappointed because we came here to get a positive result. Regardless of how the game plays out, we still feel there's so much optimism for the season ahead. "We showed good courage in the game. Our biggest downfall was losing three goals out the four when we had possession of the ball in their half. "When we were set in our shape, Rangers didn't cause us too many problems. Where we were susceptible and looked like losing goals was exactly when we had good possession of the ball and we had too many bodies forward. "The crowd helped the Rangers team. The longer we stay in front then that becomes more difficult and challenging for the Rangers players. We didn't allow that. We allowed the crowd to get behind the team. "Rangers have spent £40m-50m in two windows trying to put this squad together so there's no shame for us losing this game, there's just disappointment that we put so much into it. "Credit to Rangers, they've won a big game. I still think there's a big fight ahead of us for us all. We're not too despondent because I see enough courage, I see enough in the performance and I still feel with the fixtures we've got between now and the split, particularly so many at home, that we can win games that can keep the whole thing moving along for us. "These lads give everything for the shirt. We're not going to go along away quietly. We're top of the league. It takes a lot of good things for a team to be where we are in the league and hopefully there's a bit more in it. " FT: Rangers 4-2 Hearts Today marks the first time Hearts have lost after scoring the opening goal in the Premiership since 30 October 2024 against Kilmarnock. That was a 31-game run. Hearts boss Derek Mc Innes has been speaking to BBC Scotland. .. FT: Rangers 4-2 Hearts Here's your reminder that Sportscene is just starting on the BBC Scotland channel. Have your say on the action Us "down south" are taking notice of this title race, and we're cheering on Hearts. Nothing personal to the Old Firm but it would be great to see another winner after 40 years. Imagine Hearts in the Champions League! Just like Leicester in 2016, we love an underdog. Rob FT: Rangers 4-2 Hearts Rangers head coach Danny Rohl tells BBC Scotland: "We showed big personality to come back two times. We gave them two presents. Except from these two conceded goals, we nearly played a perfect game. Over 90 minutes, we were the better team, we fully deserved this win. "Since I'm here, best atmosphere in the stadium. If we are doing this again with my group, with the fans, it will be a good, good season. We had so much energy in the stadium, on the field. "I'm very happy for my group. We should not speak again this season about mentality. We should keep this momentum. Next week, we have to deliver again. "The gap is just the two points now. I think it's now a race with three teams. It will be a great finish in this league and we are in the race. A few months ago, nobody thought about this and we showed our development. "We have a big opportunity. We are middle in the race, this is what we want, this is what we tried since I'm here, to have a small chance and now we are in the middle of this exciting race and let's see what we can do. " On Youssef Chermiti, Rohl said: "Three goals, he worked hard for the group. I always believe in him. My job is now to keep him hungry and he will be hungry because he'll want to score more, but big games are for big players and today he showed how big he is. " FT: Rangers 4-2 Hearts Rangers have now won 10 points from losing positions in the Premiership this season, only Dundee United (13) have recovered more. Danny Rohl is responsible for some of them and he's just been speaking to BBC Scotland. .. Danny Rohl has gone in there and quietly got this team firing again. Motherwell. .. ? Celtic Rangers Hearts FT: Rangers 4-2 Hearts Kheredine asked the question - who wins the title? - so let's see what you all think. Choose your fighter. .. FT: Rangers 4-2 Hearts Kheredine Idessane BBC Sport Scotland at Ibrox With the Boney M classic 'Daddy Cool' blasting out of the speakers at Ibrox, Danny Rohl was warmly applauded by his happy fans during a post-match lap of honour. This old place was raucously rocking for most of the match, especially when Rangers got their noses in front. Anyone coming here knows they're in for a torrid match. That was absolutely not the case earlier in the season under Russell Martin. What a turnaround under Rohl, who's got his side tucked right in behind Hearts. Who wins this title now? FT: Rangers 4-2 Hearts Scott Arfield Former Rangers midfielder on BBC Sportsound It was a massive game. Rangers needed to win not just for the result, but for the galvanisation of the team. As we mentioned, the job that Danny Rohl has done to get Rangers in the mix of this title race is fantastic. FT: Rangers 4-2 Hearts FT: Rangers 4-2 Hearts Rangers hat-trick hero Youssef Chermiti tells Sky Sports: "Great feeling, great game for everyone, now we're looking forward to the next game. Everyone in the team helps me to gain confidence. " Rangers midfielder Nico Raskin adds: "[Chermiti] is big for the team, even if he doesn't score he works hard. We're lucky to have him. "We know we've got 11 finals now. It's up to us and the fans to pull in the same direction. It's only three points, next week is another three points. " Youssef Chermiti's fifth, sixth and seventh Rangers goals secured victory At a glance Chermiti hat-trick takes Rangers to within two points of leaders Hearts Leonard & Braga each put Hearts in front in first half Rangers levelled through Steinwender own goal & Chermiti Watch: Rangers v Hearts - Sportscene highlights 15/02/26 Youssef Chermiti scored an incredible hat-trick as Rangers beat Hearts for the first time this season to move to within two points of the Scottish Premiership leaders in a rousing contest at Ibrox. First blood of a tumultuous match was drawn by Marc Leonard as he lashed Hearts in front after a defensive lapse but the hosts quickly levelled through Michael Steinwender's own goal. Claudio Braga then headed Derek Mc Innes' side back ahead. Once again Rangers got level, Chermiti sweeping home from close range before half-time. He then headed Danny Rohl's side in front for the first time from a superb Andreas Skov Olsen delivery and the striker made sure of the win with a cool finish on the break. The curious case of Chermiti in Rohl's Rangers revolution Celtic, with a game in hand, are a point off Rangers and three behind Hearts. Derek Mc Innes' Hearts and Rangers each have 11 league fixtures remaining, Martin O'Neill's Celtic have 12. There seemed no imminent danger for the home side as Emmanuel Fernandez attempted a pass out of defence but Nico Raskin had his back turned and Leonard pounced. He exchanged passes with Braga and struck superbly. That lead lasted three minutes as Tuur Rommens' cross caused havoc in the Hearts six-yard box. Chermiti's header was brilliantly saved by Alexander Schwolow, Mikey Moore's rebound effort struck the bar and Steinwender, under pressure from Ryan Naderi, swiped into his own net. There had been a ruthlessness about Hearts' opener and it was matched with their second. Steinwender delivered from the right and Braga planted an excellent header beyond the static Jack Butland. Rangers came again, with Chermiti's initial attempt at a cross cut out before he finished well from the right edge of the six-yard box. Chermiti nodded his second and had just been named sponsors' man of the match when he finished the move for Rangers' fourth. Substitute Djeidi Gassama retrieved possession following a clearance, cantered away on the left and found his team-mate on the right, as Chermiti completed his hat-trick to send the home crowd wild. Late winners for Hearts and Celtic and the concession of a late leveller by Rangers in their draw at Motherwell made for a potentially pivotal midweek in the Premiership title race. Sunday appears similarly significant. Celtic had recovered from a 2-0 half-time deficit to triumph 3-2 with an added-time winner at Kilmarnock before Rangers and Hearts took the field. Hearts would not have planned for the early exit of Oisin Mc Entee, who left the field after landing awkwardly on his shoulder. Steinwender's introduction was not easy as he miscued his clearance to draw Rangers level and lost one or two duels with Rommens. However, he showed character with the assist for Braga's goal. The goals were not the only big moments. An early foul by Eduardo Ageu on Raskin had the huge home crowd calling for red. Referee Don Robertson showed yellow. And the whistler was having none of it when Skov Olsen went down in the Hearts box, booking the Rangers winger for simulation. Alexandros Kyziridis attempted a shot so synonymous with his Hearts performances but Butland was able to hold the stinging effort from the inside left channel. Rangers appealed for a second-half penalty against Stuart Findlay but the officials were satisfied he had headed on to his hand accidentally. It was Chermiti's day in the end. The Portuguese striker had not scored since his double in January's 3-1 win at Celtic Park and he came up with another crucial brace for Rangers. Like Steinwender, Chermiti showed resilience, having missed a big chance against Motherwell on Wednesday. He was composed with his first and third goals and opportunistic with his second as he met Skov Olsen's cross at the near post to wrong foot Hearts. Rangers head coach Danny Rohl: "We showed big personality to come back two times. We gave them two presents. Except from these two conceded goals, we nearly played a perfect game. Over 90 minutes, we were the better team, we fully deserved this win. "The gap is just the two points now. I think it's now a race with three teams.
