The experience was great for me and Craig Clark (assistant) as well. "Just disappointed we concede that goal at that end. I'll have to digest that as time goes on and then reflect on the game. "There's been a lot of success in the past four seasons. We need to try and maintain that. There will be bumps in the road. "It's up to the board what they decide and what they're looking for, the profile for the manager. They have a great bunch of players staying on for the next manager. We needed to get that result. Enormous pride in the players but also I think we showed our strengths as a football club. "You saw a real strength, a real mentality, a real resilience about the squad. Wee Lyall Cameron to score the two goals, it's very fitting for Lyall. No surprise, but delighted for him. Our last three games, Lyall's scored four goals. "Lyall's character's never been in question. His quality is outstanding. Lyall's going to have a fantastic career. Him amongst others really answered up. "I don't want to be a manager of a team that's sitting in the bottom six. When the time's right, we'll reflect fully on it. There has been inconsistency there. "We need to recruit well but the players that have been in there and will be moving on, I need to thank them for what they've done for the football club. "I'm naturally disappointed to be leaving the football club, but I tell the players all the time you've got a choice of what you do off a disappointment. "I can choose to be angry or upset, but I'm choosing to be thankful and positive about the opportunity and the learnings. This experience will make me a better coach, manager, and person. FT: Ross County 1-1 Motherwell Ross County manager Don Cowie tells BBC Scotland: "In the end, we were fortunate to come away with a point but first half we were very good, and deservedly in front. "We are just really disappointed we didn't manage to build on it in the second half. "Motherwell made a lot of substitutions, had a carefree style, and put us under a lot of pressure. "We find ourselves in the play-off not because of today, but because of the last two months. I was really keen for us to get that victory. "I really enjoyed the first half, but it's being able to do that for the 90 minutes. "If we perform the way we did first half, it gives us a real opportunity in the play-off. If we perform when we're not quite connected against Livingston, they'll take advantage. We have played against them before in the cup and they beat us after extra time. "We know the challenge but what's important is we have the right mindset and get ready for Thursday night. It was more the formation didn't suit the Ross County shape, and we had big problems on our left side, with some great saves from Ellery Balcombe. "We were a little lucky to be only 1-0 behind at half-time, but the reaction was brilliant. "I'm very happy because five weeks ago, we spoke about this, we needed to create more opportunities, and we did that really well on Wednesday and today. "We finish the season with confidence and bring that into the new season. " FT: Ross County 1-1 Motherwell John Robertson Former Hearts striker and manager on BBC Sportsound Ross County had by far the better of the first half and led through a tremendous goal by Ronan Hale. Hale nearly scored again at the start of the second half, but from there they got battered by Motherwell. Michael Wimmer will be disappointed his team didn't win the game. FT: St Johnstone 0-2 Dundee The away end emptied onto the pitch at Mc Diarmid Park after Dundee sealed their top-flight spot for next season. Confirmation that Ross County finish 11th and will face Livingston in the Premiership play-off final. The current Killie manager seems to be on his way to Hearts, but he wasn't in the dugout today and was replaced by Chris Burke. There was plenty of goodbyes at full-time too, with Lawrence Shankland quick to make his way over to the away fans. In the end, a draw would've sufficed after Ross County drew with Motherwell but the Dark Blues didn't know that and went about their business in the right manner. Relegated St Johnstone's 16-year top-flight status ends with a whimper and, on this evidence, they have work to do to get their squad ready for a promotion push next term. For the third year in a row, the Staggies take their survival fight to the last possible stage, taking on Livingston over two legs on Thursday and Sunday. Davie Martindale and the Livi Lions will be licking their lips. Ronan Hale's 16th goal of the season gave the hosts a deserved lead, and they looked in full control of the contest until the final quarter, when, perhaps sensing a St Johnstone comeback was a forlorn hope, their dominance waned. Motherwell went after them. They spurned some big chances before Moses Ebiye headed in the equaliser. Ebiye could have won it at the end. So could Tawanda Maswanhise. And Tom Sparrow. In the end, nobody did. Motherwell are done for another year. For Ross County, the battle continues.
