Rangers 0-0 Dundee Kheredine Idessane BBC Scotland at Ibrox It's started raining as we awaited the teams' arrival in front of a full-looking Ibrox. There weren't too many spare seats, even though this one is live on satellite telly - but you'll listen on the radio, of course. One young fan told me on the way in it would be 4-0 Rangers. If the visitors concede early, that prediction might look pretty decent. The home side are seeking their 20th consecutive victory on this ground over the Dee. Steve Rangers 0-0 Dundee Dundee manager Steven Pressley told BBC Scotland: "It's a great place to come back to, I've got some great memories here, it's shaped me a lot as a character and a person, and helped me a lot in football journey "But we have to come here as Dundee and give a good account of ourselves. It'll take the perfect performance as well as some luck to get a result here. "We need to be good and aggressive in our shape, we need to be good at the basics and brave on the ball. We need to do everything today. "[Joe] Westley has impressed this week. He'll bring some good energy, he's our goal scoring player and we're excited to have him involved today. He's only 20 but he could be a real asset for this club. " Rangers 0-0 Dundee And we're off at Ibrox in today's final match, with Rangers looking for their first league win of the season. They couldn't ask for a better opposition than off-form Dundee. Rangers v Dundee (17: 45) Rangers manager Russell Martin told BBC Scotland: "We have to put in a level of performance always. We need to bring something that looks like us all the time regardless of who we're playing. "We want to do some of the stuff we did on Tuesday night but a lot better. I'm really happy with a lot of it but there is still a lot to improve on and it's really early days. We want to improve again and bring the same energy and same intensity. "The team have recovered really well and look fresh, and they deserve the chance to play again. "We have a strong bench today. We've had to leave a couple of guys off the bench. It was a difficult decision but we have to do what is best for the team and to win games. "Dundee are trying to evolve and change the way they do things. We have to be aware of them always and be respectful but we have to play the game on our terms as much as we can. "We're working on building good consistent, elite and winning habits. " Rangers v Dundee (17: 45) Lyall Cameron has been speaking to Premier Sports before the game, clarifying his midweek comments that irked plenty of Dundee fans. The 22-year-old said training at Rangers was "a different world here than what I was used to at Dundee. It's a different world, a different job now that I'm here. It's like a full-time football player, whereas it's a bit different in Dundee. " Maybe not the wisest comments, but Cameron was quick to clarify to Premier Sports: "Some of the comments I made didn't go down the way I intended. "I'll always have so much respect for Dundee, I still have loads of friends that work there within the staff and the players. I didn't want to come across disrespectful, and if I did then I apologise for that. "But it's not what I intended. Everyone who knows my character knows I'm not like that. It is what it is but all you can do is move on with it. "I'm thankful for all the time I had at Dundee, and I'll never forget it. " Rangers v Dundee (17: 45) Kheredine Idessane BBC Scotland at Ibrox The Rangers manager Russell Martin goes with the same team who put three past Viktoria Plzen during the week and asks them for the same energy and intensity for his first home match in the Premiership. Rangers v Dundee (17: 45) What do you make of the team then, Rangers fans? Did that XI deserve another crack, or should they have been rested before the return leg against Plzen? Rangers v Dundee (17: 45) Joe Westley makes his Dundee debut up top just days after signing for Steven Pressley's side. He's one of a couple of changes from the 2-1 loss to Hibs last weekend. The young striker is in with Drey Wright as Ethan Ingram and Emile Acquah drop to the bench. It remains a 3-5-2 for the visitors, who are without Simon Murray again as he continues to recover from injury. They'll want him back sooner rather than later. Joe Westley is set to make his Dundee debut Rangers v Dundee (17: 45) Unsurprisingly, Russell Martin keeps the Rangers XI that beat Viktoria Plzen on Tuesday night in a highly impressive performance. John Souttar captains again, with James Tavernier left on the bench alongside Nico Raskin. Oliver Antman was superb on his debut and makes his first league start as a result. Meanwhile, Djeidi Gassama will be hoping to continue his goalscoring streak from the left wing. And the former Dundee midfielder Lyall Cameron remains in midfield. He's made some comments in the press this week. .. we'll talk about that later. Lyall Cameron will play in midfield for Rangers Scottish League 2 Annan, Forfar and Stirling are top of the fourth tier with four points in what already looks like being a tight title race. After a second straight win, relegated Dumbarton would be top if they did not have a five-point penalty. Meanwhile, Edinburgh eat into their 15-point penalty with a win in Stranraer. Motherwell were unable to capitalise on their dominant first-half display as both sides battled the blustery wind in Paisley. The visitors played some slick football and Tawanda Maswanhise ruffled up the St Mirren defence throughout the game but they failed to create many clear-cut chances. Meanwhile Stephen Robinson will be hugely disappointed with his side's display, although he may feel they were unlucky not to have snatched a late winner after Alex Gogic's header was tipped over the bar amid a flurry of late chances. A first point on the board for Saints after their defeat at Celtic Park last weekend, and it's two draws from two for Motherwell after their stalemate with Rangers. Motherwell's Callum Slattery with a free kick Jeremy Bokila's strike seals all three points for Livingston in the end, just as Falkirk had them on the ropes after Ross Mac Iver's goal. Robbie Muirhead will be a relieved man. He missed a penalty for Livingston with the score at 2-0, which could have made this much more comfortable. Scott Pittman and Lewis Smith got the first-half goals for Livi, who keep up their fine record against the Bairns. Last Updated 9th August 2025 at 17: 44 Please Note: All times UK.
