George O'Neill Hearts interim head coach Liam Fox tells BBC Scotland: "I'm thrilled for the players, staff, supporters. We understand it's been a disappointing season overall. I'm hoping those four wins on the bounce sends them away feeling a wee bit better. "I actually asked the fourth official what was going on and he thought it was a Kilmarnock player they were looking at. When Yan received the red, there was confusion int he dugout. I've not seen it back. "It was another thing thrown at us today. Zander Clark came off injured, Ryan Fulton was injured second half. The players deserve huge credit for finding a way to win in what wasn't a good game. "I'm naturally disappointed to be leaving the football club, but I tell the players all the time you've got a choice of what you do off a disappointment. "I can choose to be angry or upset, but I'm choosing to be thankful and positive about the opportunity and the learnings. This experience will make me a better coach, manager, and person. " Going into the play-off, County are winless since 1 May - a 1-0 triumph against Kilmarnock. Nine matches without a win hardly inspires confidence before a must-win tie. .. FT: Ross County 1-1 Motherwell Ross County manager Don Cowie tells BBC Scotland: "In the end, we were fortunate to come away with a point but first half we were very good, and deservedly in front. "We are just really disappointed we didn't manage to build on it in the second half. "Motherwell made a lot of substitutions, had a carefree style, and put us under a lot of pressure. "We find ourselves in the play-off not because of today, but because of the last two months. I was really keen for us to get that victory. "I really enjoyed the first half, but it's being able to do that for the 90 minutes. "If we perform the way we did first half, it gives us a real opportunity in the play-off. If we perform when we're not quite connected against Livingston, they'll take advantage. We have played against them before in the cup and they beat us after extra time. "We know the challenge but what's important is we have the right mindset and get ready for Thursday night. " FT: Ross County 1-1 Motherwell It looked a lot like Lennon Miller was saying goodbye to the travelling Motherwell fans at full-time in Dingwall. FT: Ross County 1-1 Motherwell Motherwell manager Michael Wimmer tells BBC Scotland: "I didn't expect us to need such a long time to come into the game. It was more the formation didn't suit the Ross County shape, and we had big problems on our left side, with some great saves from Ellery Balcombe. "We were a little lucky to be only 1-0 behind at half-time, but the reaction was brilliant. "I'm very happy because five weeks ago, we spoke about this, we needed to create more opportunities, and we did that really well on Wednesday and today. "We finish the season with confidence and bring that into the new season. " FT: Ross County 1-1 Motherwell John Robertson Former Hearts striker and manager on BBC Sportsound Ross County had by far the better of the first half and led through a tremendous goal by Ronan Hale. Hale nearly scored again at the start of the second half, but from there they got battered by Motherwell. Michael Wimmer will be disappointed his team didn't win the game. FT: St Johnstone 0-2 Dundee The away end emptied onto the pitch at Mc Diarmid Park after Dundee sealed their top-flight spot for next season. Confirmation that Ross County finish 11th and will face Livingston in the Premiership play-off final. Kilmarnock 0-1 Hearts Martin Dowden BBC Sport Scotland at Rugby Park Seventh place in the Premiership secured and it's been a fruitful May for Hearts under Liam Fox's guidance. Four wins on the trot puts a nice gloss on a poor campaign and Fox departs with his head held very high indeed. Kilmarnock now need to make the right appointment to build on the platform Derek Mc Innes leaves. A number of players are out of contract offering the chance to revitalise the squad. The full-time whistle blows at Rugby Park and 10-man Hearts are victorious in what some are calling 'Del Clasico'. Stephen Kingsley's daft goal wins it, but the game is most notable for the absence of Derek Mc Innes. The current Killie manager seems to be on his way to Hearts, but he wasn't in the dugout today and was replaced by Chris Burke. There was plenty of goodbyes at full-time too, with Lawrence Shankland quick to make his way over to the away fans. Yan Dhanda was sent off for this challenge Dundee will be in next season's Scottish Premiership! Tony Docherty's side knew a win would seal 10th place and safety - they delivered, with Lyall Cameron scoring a classy first-half opener and a late penalty. In the end, a draw would've sufficed after Ross County drew with Motherwell but the Dark Blues didn't know that and went about their business in the right manner. Relegated St Johnstone's 16-year top-flight status ends with a whimper and, on this evidence, they have work to do to get their squad ready for a promotion push next term. Lyall Cameron (centre) scored both of Dundee's goals Lyall Cameron, penalty That's how you do it. Lyall Cameron converts from 12 yards and Dundee have surely sealed the three points. A second for Cameron too, on what will be his final Dundee appearance before joining Rangers. St Johnstone 0-1 Dundee Ziyad Larkeche is bundled over by Graham Carey and Dundee have the chance to double their lead. It's the relegation play-off for Ross County - again. For the third year in a row, the Staggies take their survival fight to the last possible stage, taking on Livingston over two legs on Thursday and Sunday. Davie Martindale and the Livi Lions will be licking their lips. Ronan Hale's 16th goal of the season gave the hosts a deserved lead, and they looked in full control of the contest until the final quarter, when, perhaps sensing a St Johnstone comeback was a forlorn hope, their dominance waned. Motherwell went after them. They spurned some big chances before Moses Ebiye headed in the equaliser. Ebiye could have won it at the end. So could Tawanda Maswanhise. And Tom Sparrow. In the end, nobody did. Motherwell are done for another year. For Ross County, the battle continues. Ross County 1-1 Motherwell Tell you what, Motherwell are launching everything at Ross County in the dying embers. Tawanda Maswanhise burns down the right, cuts inside, and shoots on his left peg. Jordan Amissah saves, the ball bobbles across the goal line and is scrambled away. A moment later, Tom Sparrow is all alone in the County box, but his diving header is straight at Amissah. Stephen Kingsley That sums it all up - a dreadful goal to concede. The ball bounced around the Kilmarnock box a couple of times. The defenders weren't interested in clearing it, and Kingsley 'pounced' to slice the ball into the corner. Hang on, they're checking it. Did it hit James Wilson's arm in the build up? It's been given! The goal stands! St Johnstone 0-1 Dundee Dundee goalkeeper Trevor Carson holds from Callan Hamill after the St Johnstone substitute strikes low from the edge of the box. It's as close as Saints have come today. St Johnstone 0-1 Dundee An awkward landing for St Johnstone substitute Elliot Watt and he is helped from the field by the club's medical staff. Callan Hamill, 16, who will reportedly join Arsenal this summer, is on for his St Johnstone debut. Kilmarnock 0-0 Hearts The last couple of minutes have been the most end-of-season scenes I've ever seen. Even Dan Mc Farlane can't be bothered to blow his whistle. It's resulting in really slow, really poor football. No one has broken into a sprint for a long time. St Johnstone 0-1 Dundee Seb Palmer-Houlden makes way, with the Dundee attacker taking the acclaim of the travelling fans. Fin Robertson comes on. It could be the on-loan Bristol City man's final game for the Dark Blues and the Dundee fans will be in an even better mood after that Motherwell goal. Lyall Cameron signed off at Dundee with a double Dundee made sure of their Scottish Premiership survival as Lyall Cameron marked what would turn out to be his final appearance for the club with a double against relegated St Johnstone. Rangers-bound Cameron, 22, netted as the half-hour approached, drilling a crisp low shot into the bottom right corner of the net, before converting an added-time penalty to seal the victory. In the end a draw would have been enough for Tony Docherty's side to finish 10th, one place above the relegation play-off spot, after Ross County drew with Motherwell. Saints' demotion had been confirmed in midweek and they went out with a whimper in the final game of their 16-year stretch in the top flight. Have your say on St Johnstone Share your thoughts on Dundee With their fate sealed and the pressure off, the home team started with a real freedom and went close when Makenzie Kirk's flicked effort went over, before Dundee defender Clark Robertson deflected a Taylor Steven cross over his own bar. The visitors did settle into things, though. Cameron in particular began to exert a real influence, curling a long-range shot just wide. But he wasn't to be denied on 27 minutes as he netted his 13th goal of the season, much to the delight of the large travelling support. Like in the first half, St Johnstone made a decent start to the second, with Kirk firing an angled shot into the side netting shortly after the interval. But also like the first half their early promise fizzled out. Dundee thought they had doubled their advantage when Scott Tiffoney slotted the ball under Saints keeper Ross Sinclair and into the net, but his effort was correctly ruled out for offside. St Johnstone were rarely seen as an attacking force as the half wore on, but an Adama Sidibeh shot that went just wide served as a reminder to Dundee that there was still work to do. The away fans were cheering late on as news of Ross County's 1-1 draw with Motherwell filtered through, a scoreline that further eased any flickering fears they may have had that their team could yet end up in a relegation play-off with Livingston. And the three points were sealed when Cameron converted from the spot after Graham Carey had fouled Ziyad Larkeche. It is the bigger picture that will be occupying the minds of the St Johnstone faithful and they will hope it won't be too long before they are dining back at Scottish football's top table. Manager Simo Valakari has received the backing of the board and he will certainly be doing his utmost to make sure they return to the Premiership at the first attempt. While that will be the main objective, the bigger goal at the club will be trying to find a way of halting what has been a gradual decline in recent times. A lot of people have had their say, and offered their take, on what has gone wrong at the club since their remarkable domestic cup double four years ago. The causes are likely multi-faceted but will need to be addressed soon to ensure a the desired rapid response. With survival secure, the inquest into how Dundee got themselves embroiled into such a battle can begin. Having been promoted from the second tier, they really impressed in the Premiership last term, finishing sixth. This has been a strange campaign for Dundee - when they are on it, they have proved they are a match for anyone in the division. The problem has been they haven't been on it often enough. A team bursting with goals has too often been undone by a porous defence. It is important to point out, though, that this is the end of what is only Docherty's second season as a manager in his own right. It is perhaps unsurprising that there will be ups and downs along the way. But the Dark Blues fans will be hoping the lessons learned from the past few months can put them back on a good footing to be challenging higher up the table next season.
