A field of 32 teams in the expanded 2025 FIFA Club World Cup has been reduced to two with only Paris Saint-Germain and Chelsea still in with a chance of earning the honour of being the world's best club team. PSG are the first French team to feature in the final but Chelsea are making their third appearance after losing 1-0 to Corinthians in 2012 and winning the title in 2021 with a 2-1 success against Palmeiras after extra-time. The Champions League winners are unsurprisingly hot favourites to lift the trophy against the team who finished fourth in the Premier League this season, but it should be an entertaining encounter at Met Life Stadium in New Jersey. It would be no disgrace for Chelsea to finish as runners-up to a tremendous team who have brushed aside European giants Bayern Munich and Real Madrid in their last two matches, but they are not likely to go down without a fight and can achieve what neither of those sides did by grabbing a consolation goal. Neither team arrives in the final unbeaten as PSG lost a group game 1-0 to Botafogo, while Chelsea were also beaten by a Brazilian side in their second group match, letting a 1-0 lead slip in a 3-1 defeat by Flamengo. The French team have barely put a foot wrong since then, though, and they have scored 10 goals without reply in three knockout games. They have strengthened as the tournament has gone on after star striker Ousmane Dembele missed the group stage through injury but with him now back in full flow another trophy looks within their grasp. Chelsea have not been shut out in any match of the tournament and while the ability of their defence to keep PSG at bay has to be questioned, they have an array of attacking options including recent arrival Joao Pedro and should be capable of getting on the scoresheet. Dembele can extend scoring streak  PSG proved in the group stage that they can win without Dembele but they have shown in the knockout matches that they are an even more potent force with him leading the onslaught. Dembele made his return from a quadriceps injury picked up on international duty as a substitute against Inter Miami in the round of 16, then scored from the bench in added time of the quarter-final against Bayern Munich. It took him just nine minutes to find the net in his first start back against Real Madrid and he should prove a real handful for the Chelsea defence. PSG have scored at least two goals in 10 of their last 11 matches and Dembele will fancy his chances of getting on the scoresheet in the final. First French success should come by a clear margin All five PSG wins in this tournament have been secured by at least a two-goal margin and they look capable of comfortably covering a -1 goal handicap in the final against Chelsea. In contrast to the favourites' titanic clashes with Bayern and Madrid in their last two matches, the Blues have had a more helpful path to the final and PSG will be only the second European side they have faced in the competition. Enzo Maresca's side beat Benfica after extra-time in their last-16 match but they have not met a side of PSG's class in the competition and they could struggle to stay in touch. PSG are not shy about going for goals in big games and after beating Inter 5-0 and Madrid 4-0 it's worth including over 3. 5 goals in a bet builder, with Chelsea capable of contributing to the overall tally. Enzo Fernandez has been lively in the Chelsea midfield at this tournament and the Argentinian is worth including to get a shot on target in the match. He has averaged 2. 2 shots per match in the tournament, with at least one attempt in each fixture. Bet £10 get £30 in free bets CLAIM HERE T&Cs: 18+ New customers only.
