Tom Mc Coy BBC Sport journalist Ipswich Town had wanted to keep DR Congo international Axel Tuanzebe but were unable to tie him down to a new deal following relegation from the Premier League. The Tractor Boys struggled in the top flight, earning just 22 points, but Tuanzebe was one of their better performers. He mainly operated as a defensive-minded right-back, though he could also feature for his new club at centre-back, with the Clarets having lost central defender CJ Egan-Riley to Marseille this summer. Tuanzebe has struggled with injuries throughout his career and missed time last season because of a hamstring injury and a freak accident whilst cleaning dishes which nearly severed his thumb. Despite those absences, he started 20 league games, his highest total since spending 2018-19 on loan at Aston Villa. Overall, the former Manchester United player was only available for 68% of Ipswich's league matches during his two years at the club, so Burnley will need to manage his usage carefully – and keep him away from the washing up. Burnley Axel Tuanzebe did not go straight into the Ipswich Town starting line-up after signing for them at the start of the 2023-24 season. In fact, the DR Congo defender did not even feature in Ipswich's matchday squad for the first seven games in the Championship before making the bench in a game against Plymouth Argyle in October. His first minutes for Kieran Mc Kenna's side came in a 2-2 draw with Rotherham in November but it was only towards the closing stages of the campaign that he became a regular for the Tractor Boys in a right-back role. After making 18 league appearances and helping them earn promotion to the Premier League, he signed a one-year extension with the club. Starting all six games for Ipswich at the start of their Premier League season, Tuanzebe's return to the top flight was affected by injuries. He missed a month after suffering a freak thumb injury while doing the washing up in October. A hamstring injury in December meant more time on the sidelines but the full-back managed 22 appearances as Ipswich finished 18th last season. Though used primarily as a right-back by Mc Kenna, Tuanzebe can also play as a centre-back. Their goals against total has been their Achilles heel for the past couple of seasons compared to other top flight teams yet Emery seems oblivious to it. Stan, Kent Burnley Axel Tuanzebe is a product of the Manchester United youth system, having joined the club when he was an eight-year-old. After impressing across various age groups, Tuanzebe made his senior debut at the age of 19, coming on as a second-half substitute for Jose Mourinho's side in a 4-0 FA Cup victory over Wigan Athletic at Old Trafford in 2017. Tuanzebe spent the second half of that season on loan at Aston Villa and was a fringe player for United during the 2019-20 and 2020-21 seasons. Further loan spells at Aston Villa, Napoli and Stoke City followed but his progress was marred by a string of injuries before he permanently signed for Ipswich Town in the Championship in 2023 on a one-year deal. That contract was extended by another year after he helped the club win promotion to the Premier League for the 2024-25 season. Burnley will now hope the 27-year-old, who joined as a free agent, will play a key role in helping them stay in the top flight during the 2025-26 season. Chris, Tilbury Right, it's recap time and these are the Premier League done deals so far this summer. This is what has been happening in the world of transfers off late, starting with a double signing from Burnley. .. And Van Nistelrooy and Leicester have mutually agreed to part ways. Also, don't forget to get involved in the live today because we want to hear your thoughts: How worried are you on the lack of signings at your club? Nick Mashiter BBC Sport football news reporter Leicester's squad return for pre-season training on Monday and it would have been a difficult situation for Ruud van Nistelrooy to come in for one day before leaving, part of the reason why the announcement has come now. Profit and sustainability rules (PSR) and the Foxes' finances have also come into consideration with Leicester facing a charge for breaching the rules for the 2023-24 season and could be handed a points deduction. Van Nistelrooy carried himself well during his Foxes' tenure, as you would expect for someone with his playing career, and was well liked within the club. But the appointment never worked and Leicester ultimately went down with a whimper, with Van Nistelrooy now left to repair his reputation elsewhere. And also, keep your comments coming in on how worried you are about the likes of Arsenal, Aston Villa, Fulham and Nottingham Forest having not signed anyone yet. Leicester City Leicester City will begin their life back in the Championship with a home fixture at the King Power Stadium against Sheffield Wednesday on 10 August. And the first-team players are set to reconvene in just three days' time ahead of the new campaign, with the club without a manager for the time being. Former Everton and Burnley boss Sean Dyche has been heavily linked to replace Ruud van Nistelrooy at the Foxes ahead of the 2025-26 season. But there is also trouble brewing off the pitch. Not only are the club looking to regroup for their immediate return to the Championship, they are also facing a potential points deduction after being charged for allegedly breaching the Football League's financial rules. The Foxes have been referred to an independent commission after being charged by the Premier League for an alleged breach of profit and sustainability rules (PSR) for the year 2023-24, when they were in the Championship. The new charge follows a lengthy arbitration process over who holds jurisdiction over Leicester, with the club bouncing between the Championship and Premier League in recent seasons. Leicester City Under Ruud van Nistelrooy, Leicester City went on a nine-game winless run at King Power Stadium between 22 December and 20 April. They became the first club in English top-flight history to lose seven home league games in a row without scoring when they lost 3-0 to Manchester United in March. That run continued for two more games as they were outscored 22-0 at home during the winless streak. It was Jamie Vardy who ended their home drought with his 199th goal for the Foxes in a 2-0 win against Southampton, who were also relegated. Amid all the gloom, there was something to celebrate at the end of the season as 13 years to the day since they paid Fleetwood Town £1m for Vardy, the Premier League-winning striker ended his Foxes career with a goal - his 200th for the club - in a 2-0 win over Ipswich Town in the penultimate game of the season. Manchester United Veteran goalkeeper Tom Heaton has signed a new one-year contract at Manchester United. An academy graduate at Old Trafford, Heaton left United permanently in 2010 and went on to make 200 appearances for Burnley. The 39-year-old rejoined United in 2021 and has since made three appearances, none of them coming in the past two seasons. This deal takes Heaton, who won three England caps between 2016 and 2017, into a 20th season of professional football and United said he "continues to play an important leadership role in the squad". Leicester City In the statement, Ruud van Nistelrooy said: "I would like to personally thank the Leicester City players, coaches, academy and all the staff I have worked with for their professionalism and dedication during my time at the club and to thank the fans for their support, and take this opportunity to wish the club well for the future. " The club added: "Preparation for the Championship season will continue with the planned start of pre-season on Monday, 30 June. The first team coaching staff will oversee the delivery of those plans until a new manager is appointed. There will be no further comment until this process has been completed. " Leicester City A club statement read: "Ruud has overseen a challenging period for the club. From his appointment in November 2024, he approached the role with professionalism, integrity and a clear commitment to our aims, including through the integration of several promising players from the club’s academy into our first-team environment. "Ruud moves on with the respect and thanks of everyone at the football club for his dedication and hard work, and with our very best wishes for the future. " Ruud van Nistelrooy signed a contract with Leicester City until June 2027 but they will spend 2025-26 in the Championship after finishing last season 18th in the Premier League. The Foxes were 13 points adrift of safety and were relegated as early as April. Taking over a club sitting 16th in the Premier League table, the former Manchester United striker enjoyed a brilliant start at the King Power Stadium as they defeated West Ham 3-1 on 3 December. Five days later his new side drew 2-2 at Brighton but what followed was a dismal run of 17 defeats from 19 matches which confirmed the Foxes' return to the second tier. Though they ended the season by picking up seven points from their final four games, via wins against Ipswich Town and Southampton and a draw with Nottingham Forest, it was too little too late for Van Nistelrooy. Leicester City Leicester City have announced the departure of manager Ruud van Nistelrooy after only seven months in charge. The former PSV Eindhoven coach replaced Steve Cooper as the Foxes boss with the club 16th in the Premier League after 12 games. His appointment came just two weeks after he left his role as interim head coach at Manchester United following Ruben Amorim's arrival. Though his spell at Leicester began with a 3-1 win against West Ham in December, Van Nistelrooy's side suffered 19 defeats in his 27 games in charge as the club were relegated from the Premier League with an 18th-placed finish. Two years ago, this would have really worried me, but selling these two players would bring in the thick end of £100m. This would give Palace a sizeable war chest to strengthen the squad, and have a good go in both domestic and European football next season. Thanks to some sensible recruitment in the last couple of years, losing these players sad as it would be, is no longer an acute crisis for us. Jonathan The Sun The Sun, external has reported that Arsenal will take on north London rivals Tottenham for the signing of Crystal Palace and England midfielder Eberechi Eze, 26, who is priced at £68m. Teamtalk, external has reported that Liverpool have opened talks with Crystal Palace over a deal to sign their captain Marc Guehi, with the 24-year-old England defender said to favour a move to Anfield this summer.
