The Real Madrid right–back has been dealing with muscular pain in his right leg which he picked up on Tuesday before their clash with Paris Saint–Germain. The injury kept him out the Club World Cup semi–final in New Jersey which saw the Spanish giants thrashed 4–0 by Luis Enrique's side.    He had played in all five of Madrid's Club World Cup previous matches after his move from Liverpool at the start of June. Speaking before they were dumped out by PSG, Madrid boss Xabi Alonso said: ‘He felt something, a small discomfort but not good enough to play today. ’ ‘For sure it’s a blow. He initially remained in Spain to focus on his recovery throughout the tournament. The Brazilian later flew to Miami to recover nearer his team–mates, although he was never expected to take part in competitive action He was involved in training on Monday before suffering a setback, which will keep him out for a number of weeks, according to The Athletic.   Meanwhile, Madrid are reportedly edging closer to a deal for former Man United left back Alvaro Carreras. Real Madrid's 18–year–old forward Endrick has been further ruled out for a number of weeks The Brazilian suffered a relapse of a muscle injury which he has been struggling since May Carreras, 22, who was previously known as Fernandez, came through the youth ranks at Real before he moved to Old Trafford as a 17–year–old in 2020. The Spaniard failed to make an appearance for United, but did spend time on loan at Preston, Granada and Benfica. According to Fabrizio Romano, Carreras is nearing a return to the Bernabeu after a €50m (£43m) agreement was reached with Benfica.
