Both sides are looking to address their defensive shortcomings this summer and the swap could suit both parties. According to Sky, Juve are keen on 29-year-old Moroccan defender Nayef Aguerd. Aguerd joined the Hammers in a deal worth £30m in 2022 and made 58 appearances over two seasons before being sent out on loan to Real Sociedad for the 2024-25 campaign. The London club could be willing to part ways with the player but want Daniele Rugani in return. Rugani joined Juventus in 2012 but has never quite managed to secure a regular starting role. He is currently with The Old Lady at the Club World Cup but was left on the bench for Wednesday's 5-0 opening win over Al-Ain. Bayer Leverkusen and Marseille have also been linked with a move for Aguerd this summer. Real Sociedad would also be keen to re-signing Aguerd on loan but West Ham would prefer a permanent deal if the 29-year-old was deemed surplus to requirements by Graham Potter.
