This weekend will see all 92 teams in the top four leagues of English football in action once again with the new campaign well underway. That means 92 teams will fight for honours - be that promotion, survival, European qualification or even titles. And it all starts here. So strap in ready for the next nine months. Nine moths that will see fans catching trains, journeying over motorways and maybe even jetting all over England and Wales to watch their teams in action as they compete for glory. An away trip can often be a venture into the unknown - the ticket price, the atmosphere, the view, even the closest station. But fear not - Daily Mail Sport has you covered. The away end is cut into two, and the view from both is dreadful - particularly the top of the upper tier, which feels like miles from the pitch. There is not much in the way of pubs for away fans close by, so travelling supporters often opt to drink at the Wetherspoons next to Liverpool Street station before making the slog to Stratford, and it can take an age to get back to transport hubs post-match. I have only had bad footballing experiences there - three defeats out of three, which may influence its ranking - but there is at least a good selection of pubs and easy parking. It stretches across an entire side of the stadium, meaning generating an atmosphere is difficult even for the louder fanbases. While there are good food and drink options inside and outside the stadium, and a dedicated away pub within a 15-minute walk, a trip to Molineux is not one to look forward to. Away fans get the entire East Terrace and you can make quite a racket in there given the design of the terrace. There does seem to have been a concerted effort on the food and drink front to be one of the league leaders. But, in truth, the overall experience as an away fan is questionable, with an old-fashioned open terrace leaving you exposed to the elements and it can feel cramped when your side has sold the allocation. Attendances have been low and the atmosphere lacking in recent years, although that has mainly been due to protests against Dai Yongge's ruinous ownership of the club, which has thankfully come to an end. It’s a fairly basic stand with huge poles holding it up which could obstruct the view on a particularly packed day. All the local pubs in Burslem are only for home fans, but the Vale Social bar outside the away end can be accessed by the travelling contingent - for £2 per head. A decent ground with decent turnouts but won’t blow your socks off. Food options are solid, with the club owners looking to improve experience with a fan area too. If it rains, expect to have an unpleasant experience due to the lack of roof on the infamous scaffolding away end if that's where you are sat. But you may get some complimentary rain macs for your troubles. Overall, it's a good ground for Gillingham's level - but the experience is probably nicer for home fans than away. Parking is easy enough, but the ground is run-down and the view not great. But there is still something to be said about such an old ground standing strong today. On the outskirts of Northampton, it is difficult to get to and is in the shadows of a retail park which means it is a venue lacking character, although a couple of nearby pubs are decent spots for a pre-match tipple. The issue with an away day at Wigan is that it’s a pretty soulless experience and the stadium is rarely sold out which makes it something of a damp squib. Wigan North Western and Wigan Wallgate train stations are both around 20 minutes walk to the stadium and while the pies are decent - check out the chicken balti one - at half-time, little around the ground and a half-full stadium makes this a forgettable away day. Facilities are so-so but as you’d expect from an old-school ground like this one, you can generate some great noise in the end if your team gets on top. While the stadium itself is dated, it is well-connected for fans arriving by car, train or bus. The concourses are narrow, but the kiosks offer a decent range of food and drink, while there are three excellent pubs within walking distance for those keen on a pre-match pint. It’s the oldest part of the ground, built in the 1970s, and there has been talk of redevelopment. This is a classic away day - a short walk from the town centre, with some allowance for safe standing, and statues of Sir Alf Ramsay, Sir Bobby Robson, and Kevin Beattie outside. It's a surprisingly high figure given that the stand has a cramped feel to it. You feel as though you are within touching distance of the goal situated in front of you, but the far end feels like a long way away. A fairly standard concourse greets away fans, though the range of pies was particularly good on my visit to the south west. On the down side, toilet facilities are questionable at best - particularly for female fans; it’s an uncovered away end on the Coppice Terrace so you’re exposed to the elements; and an open end means the noise can often get lost. Big bonus points for having a pub strategically positioned just outside of the away end. The away end has a great concourse though and it gives you a good vantage point to watch games from. The away end isn’t really an end - just a corner tucked between the East and South stands. Opened on an exposed suburban business park in 1997 with three of the stands in a bowl design, it lacks the awe-inspiring brushstrokes of a long footballing history. .. but at least you’ll be comfortable. Away fans in league matches are put in the bottom tier of the Bramall Lane Stand behind one of the goals. It’s one of the oldest professional football grounds in the world and so is unsurprisingly popular for fans to tick off each season.
