FT: Bayern Munich 1-1 Barcelona FT: Bayern Munich 1-1 Barcelona Bayern Munich Bayern Munich midfielder Klara Buhl speaking to Disney+: "I am exhausted, but that's totally normal after this game. "It's mixed feelings - we started not good, Barcelona scored early, but we were really patient and disciplined and defended a lot. "In the first half we struggled to escape the high press of Barcelona. In the second half we took one or two touches to get out and used speed in behind. "We knew it would be like that. We just kept going and scored. We believe in our chance. At Camp Nou it will be a difficult game and we will need a new match plan. But we can travel there and play our game. " FT: Bayern Munich 1-1 Barcelona Lianne Sanderson Former England footballer on Disney+ I have no idea why we're seeing it so much more in the women's game. It's almost like we're seeing copycat situations. It's so strange. I know Katie Mc Cabe wasn't sent off against Chelsea but we can't say this one wasn't a red card - the Mc Cabe one was a mistake. FT: Bayern Munich 1-1 Barcelona Bayern Munich Bayern Munich forward Pernille Harder speaking to Disney+: "It is difficult to play against a team like Barcelona that keep the ball. We worked really hard, got the goal and then after the red card, we just had to fight in the last minutes. "The discipline and defence was first thing we had to do and then we had to be brave and believe we'd get the chances. "In the second half, we tried to be a little bit more aggressive and play a bit longer and there was space in behind. " FT: Bayern Munich 1-1 Barcelona Lianne Sanderson Former England footballer on Disney+ This game had everything. Fair play to Bayern Munich as I was critical of them at half-time. They were fearless in the second half. If they can go on like that next week, who knows? FT: Bayern Munich 1-1 Barcelona Caption competition? Fair to say Bayern boss Jose Barcola was unimpressed with the sending off. FT: Bayern Munich 1-1 Barcelona Barcelona Barcelona midfielder Alexia Putellas speaking to Disney+: "It's a tough team but in the first half, we kept a clean sheet and in the second half, we had more control. In the end, we should have scored another goal with one player more. "We knew the [7-1] was a crazy result because we were so good, almost perfect and they were not good. We knew this game would be different and as you saw, we were right. "This is the semi-final of the Champions League - a big game. We are grateful to play in this stadium - the supporters were amazing. " FT: Bayern Munich 1-1 Barcelona As the average positions of the Barcelona players show, the visitors had Bayern Munich pinned inside their own half for much of that match. Barcelona couldn't find a second goal though. FT: Bayern Munich 1-1 Barcelona Lianne Sanderson Former England footballer on Disney+ Unfortunately for Bayern, Barcelona only seem to score bangers against them in this competition. The finish from Pajor was unbelievable. Nine times out of ten they go over the bar or hit your shin. She makes it look easy. She's a fox in the box. Bayern Munich 1-1 Barcelona That will do it. A thrilling first leg encounter ends all square. Ewa Pajor gave Barcelona an early lead with a brilliant finish, but Bayern worked hard and drew level through Franziska Kett. She went from hero to zero when she was sent off for pulling the hair of Barcelona's Salma Paralluelo, but Bayern hung on. The Germans will head to Catalunya next week on a level footing. Bayern Munich 1-1 Barcelona The ball falls at the feet of Salma Paralluelo, but the Barcelona winger rifles over from eight yards out. That was the chance. Bayern Munich 1-1 Barcelona It's constant Barcelona pressure but Bayern are equal to everything. Pernille Harder looks to break, but is brought down by Clara Serrajordi who is booked. Bayern Munich 1-1 Barcelona Bayern Munich have five more minutes to hang on. Bayern Munich 1-1 Barcelona Patri Guijarro sees her overhead kick attempt blocked, before a Mapi Leon piledriver is palmed away by Ena Mahmutovic. This is a siege now. Bayern Munich 1-1 Barcelona Bayern forward Lind Dallmann makes way for Stine Ballisager. Bayern Munich 1-1 Barcelona The decision stands, so Bayern are down to 10 players for the final 10 minutes. This video can not be played Kett scores before being sent off as Bayern and Barca draw first leg At a glance Ewa Pajor opens scoring for visitors Barcelona after eight minutes Franziska Kett levels for Bayern midway through second half, before being sent off for a hair pull on substitute Salma Paralluelo Bayern manager Jose Barcala sent off in aftermath of dismissal PLAYER RATER Franziska Kett went from hero to villain for Bayern Munich after levelling their Champions League semi-final first leg against Barcelona before later being sent off. It was a rollercoaster performance from the 21-year-old midfielder, who had been Bayern's best player. After Ewa Pajor had given Barcelona the lead, Kett's display was rewarded after 69 minutes with her first Champions League goal, popping up on the penalty spot to turn home Pernille Harder's cross after a wonderful team move. The Germany international was then shown a straight red card for pulling Barca substitute Salma Paralluelo back by her hair as she tried to dart down the right wing. This left Bayern to see out the remaining minutes with 10 players, with manager Jose Barcala also sent off in the chaos that ensued. An early lapse in concentration had allowed Pajor and Esmee Brugts to combine for the opener. Brugts cut back from the byline for the competition's joint top scorer Pajor to guide in a deft volley after just eight minutes. Hosts Bayern were made to weather long spells without possession as Barcelona dominated proceedings in trademark fashion. The away side spurned chances to add to their lead, with Brugts crashing the best of them off the woodwork in the first half. After a more even start to the second half, competition favourites Barcelona piled on the pressure in the closing stages in a bid to take a lead into the second leg. However, Bayern's last-ditch rearguard action ensured the tie remains finely poised for the return at Camp Nou on Sunday, 3 May. When these two sides met on matchday one of this year's league phase, it was a total stroll for Barcelona, who ran out 7-1 winners without even breaking sweat. It was a different story this time around. Bayern showed grit, resilience and most importantly, quality to secure a result in front of a club-record 31, 000 home crowd for a European fixture. Barcelona played with all the confidence and swagger of a team aiming to reach a sixth successive Champions League final, cutting their hosts open with ease to break the deadlock early. Yet Bayern, who are aiming to qualify for the showpiece event for the first time in their history, refused to wilt. The Bavarians had just 26. 6% of possession and seven shots at goal compared to Barcelona's 73. 4% and 21 attempts, but in the end their efficiency paid off. One big chance, one goal as emerging midfield talent Kett drew them level with her landmark moment midway through the second half. Her joy turned to despair with the red card 10 minutes later, however, as the odds against them lengthened, the 10 Bayern players that remained held Barcelona at arm's length to retain a realistic chance of progression going into the second leg. Next up for Bayern is an away trip to Werder Bremen in the Frauen Bundesliga on Wednesday evening (29 April, 17: 00 BST). Meanwhile, Barcelona have a full week of rest and recovery before hosting the second leg (Sunday, 3 May, 15: 30 BST).
