As well as finding a move for Phillips, City sporting director Hugo Viana is under pressure to transform the City midfield this summer. Phillips, Matheus Nunes, Nico Gonzalez and Tijjani Reijnders have all been signed by the club in the last five years and none have been able to hold down a regular place in midfield.
