Tottenham Suffer Sandro Tonali Transfer Blow

Tottenham Suffer Sandro Tonali Transfer Blow Tottenham Hotspur have been dealt a significant blow in their pursuit of Newcastle United midfielder Sandro Tonali as Manchester City have now joined the race to sign the Italian, according to Chronicle Live. This campaign has sparked interest in the 26-year-old from a host of top clubs, including Spurs, Manchester United, Arsenal and now Man City. Enzo Maresca is understood to be a keen admirer of the energetic number eight, and the Citizens are now prepared to hijack Tottenham's move for him. City would "easily match" Spurs' £275,000-per-week contract offer to Tonali, according to the report, as they look to bolster a midfield department which has lost Bernardo Silva and needs a long-term replacement for Rodri. Roberto De Zerbi holds a close relationship with the player's agent, Giuseppe Riso, and this link may have been the catalyst for this deal developing to the stage it has. Mateus Fernandes has been linked with a move to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, although West Ham are supposedly looking for an excessive fee for the Portuguese midfielder.

Marc Cucurella transfer news: Real Madrid sign defender from Chelsea in deal worth £51.8m | Football News | Sky Sports

Marc Cucurella transfer news: Sky Sports Football Real Madrid sign defender Marc Cucurella from Chelsea for £51.8m; the move is a blow to incoming Blues boss Xabi Alonso, who is already short of experienced players; Cucurella was a priority for new Real manager Jose Mourinho; they fought off competition from Barcelona and Man City Monday 15 June 2026 10:23, UK Real Madrid have signed defender Marc Cucurella from Chelsea on a six-year deal. Chelsea signed Cucurella from Brighton four years ago for £63m. The 27-year-old made 163 appearances for the club, winning the Conference League and Club World Cup. He had been linked with a return to Barca, as well as Atletico Madrid and Manchester City. Cucurella made public comments criticising Chelsea's transfer policy and the decision to let Enzo Maresca leave at the start of the year. Deals for Ibrahima Konate, Denzel Dumfries and Bernardo Silva have been secured. Cucurella's move to Real Madrid is totally separate from any possible move for midfielder Enzo Fernandez to the same club. Chelsea have very good relations with Real, but they would not let Fernandez leave for less than £120m. He arrived at Stamford Bridge from Benfica in 2023 for a fee of £106.8m. Man Utd begin talks to sign £38m Liverpool target after Ederson transfer collapse | Football | Metro News

Man Utd begin talks to sign £38m Liverpool target after Ederson transfer collapse | Football | Metro News Manchester United have entered the race with Liverpool to sign Wolves midfielder Joao Gomes, according to reports in Brazil. United had agreed a £35 million deal to sign Ederson from Atalanta in June but cancelled the transfer on Friday due to concerns raised during the midfielder’s medical. Michael Carrick is set to add one midfielder to his squad in the coming days as Andrey Santos is finalising his £50m move from Chelsea. However, United remain in the market for a second central midfielder and according to Brazilian outlet Globo, an approach has been made to Wolves over a deal for Gomes. Gomes had appeared to be on course to join Atletico Madrid this summer in a deal worth €45m (£38.3m). However, Atletico pulled the plug on the move this week as they were angered by Jorge Mendes, who represents Gomes, over his decision to push Bernardo Silva towards signing for Real Madrid earlier this summer. Silva, who left Manchester City on a free transfer at the end of last season, had been in talks to join Atletico before Mendes encouraged Real Madrid to make their move after Jose Mourinho returned as head coach. Wolves signed Gomes in a £15m deal from Flamengo three years ago.
