Chelsea in talks to sign Sunderland's Granit Xhaka - BBC Sport

Chelsea in talks to sign Sunderland's Granit Xhaka - BBC Sport Xhaka played 34 times as Sunderland finished seventh in the Premier League last season Sunderland say experienced midfielder Granit Xhaka is not for sale after it emerged Chelsea have entered talks with the player's camp over a potential move. For Chelsea, any successful move would see a radical shift in transfer policy, signing a player who will turn 34 in September, having fielded the youngest team in the Premier League for the past two seasons. A move for a midfielder has long been part of Chelsea's plans this summer, and comes amid growing expectations that Enzo Fernandez could join Real Madrid. Chelsea have not received a formal approach for the Argentina international and value him at around £120m. However, sources in Spain suggest there is internal support at Real Madrid for a move, including from club president Florentino Perez and new manager Jose Mourinho.

Marc Cucurella transfer news: Real Madrid sign defender from Chelsea in deal worth £51.8m | Football News | Sky Sports

Marc Cucurella transfer news: Sky Sports Football Real Madrid sign defender Marc Cucurella from Chelsea for £51.8m; the move is a blow to incoming Blues boss Xabi Alonso, who is already short of experienced players; Cucurella was a priority for new Real manager Jose Mourinho; they fought off competition from Barcelona and Man City Monday 15 June 2026 10:23, UK Real Madrid have signed defender Marc Cucurella from Chelsea on a six-year deal. Chelsea signed Cucurella from Brighton four years ago for £63m. The 27-year-old made 163 appearances for the club, winning the Conference League and Club World Cup. He had been linked with a return to Barca, as well as Atletico Madrid and Manchester City. Cucurella made public comments criticising Chelsea's transfer policy and the decision to let Enzo Maresca leave at the start of the year. Deals for Ibrahima Konate, Denzel Dumfries and Bernardo Silva have been secured. Cucurella's move to Real Madrid is totally separate from any possible move for midfielder Enzo Fernandez to the same club. Chelsea have very good relations with Real, but they would not let Fernandez leave for less than £120m. He arrived at Stamford Bridge from Benfica in 2023 for a fee of £106.8m. Everton close in on deal for Chelsea winger Tyrique George - BBC Sport

Everton close in on deal for Chelsea winger Tyrique George - BBC Sport Tyrique George played 48 games in all competitions for Chelsea and Everton last season Everton are close to agreeing a deal with Chelsea to sign winger Tyrique George following his loan spell. The 20-year-old spent the second half of last season on loan on Merseyside, with an option to buy for £25m, but Everton have renegotiated an upfront fee to one with add-ons. With the deal for George close, Everton are finalising a £16m deal for Middlesbrough midfielder Hayden Hackney. Attacking midfielder Merlin Rohl is also set to make his loan move permanent following a successful spell from SC Freiburg last season, while Idrissa Gana Gueye and Seamus Coleman have departed after their contracts expired. George, who came through Chelsea's academy, has been available for transfer for the past 12 months. They have signed Marco Palestra from Atalanta and retain interest in Crystal Palace's Maxence Lacroix, Como's Jacobo Ramon and Rayo Vallecano full-back Pep Chavarria. Player sales are therefore likely, with Real Madrid interested in Enzo Fernandez, while Como and Inter Milan are among the clubs keen on Trevoh Chalobah. Liverpool transfer state of play as one deal close but two more slipping away - Liverpool Echo

Robertson has signed for Tottenham Hotspur while Konate has gone to Real Madrid, both on free transfers. Salah is being linked with a move to Saudi Pro League side Al-Hilal. Curtis Jones has been wanted by Inter Milan, but the Italians are unwilling to come close to Liverpool's asking price in excess of £30m for the 25-year-old, who is in the last 12 months of his contract. Nottingham Forest are keen but Jones is understood to be reluctant to move to the City Ground. With Alisson Becker having committed to Liverpool for the season, there have been claims from Italy that Giorgi Mamardashvili has been offered by his representatives to several Serie A clubs for a potential season-long loan. Joe Gomez cast doubt over his long-term future with recent comments on his status at Liverpool, while Federico Chiesa has been linked with a return to Italy but is expected to first attempt to impress new boss Iraola. Harvey Elliott is similarly likely to feature in early pre-season but is another who could leave if the right offer is forthcoming. Talk over a possible departure for Alexis Mac Allister has cooled, with long-term suitors Real Madrid having signed Bernando Silva and now looking at Enzo Fernandez of Chelsea. Luca Stephenson spent the last two seasons on loan in Scotland with Dundee United but is now on the verge of signing for Championship side Bolton Wanderers. And while it's a little early to determine which players could be released on loan, Kieran Morrison, who signed a new contract last month, is likely to be among them.

Fernandez is still only 25, has elite international experience, and offers the kind of passing range, intensity and control that Madrid usually value in midfield. Sky Sports previously reported that Madrid were looking to sign a midfielder this summer and that Fernandez was among their targets. Fernandez is under contract until 2032, meaning they have no need to accept a low offer. Fernandez is a top-class midfielder, but if his camp is genuinely looking at an exit, the club must decide whether they want to fight to keep him or cash in for a huge fee. If Fernandez leaves, it should only be for a fee that allows the club to properly rebuild. Your matchday briefing on Chelsea, featuring team news and expert analysis from Dom Smith I would like to be emailed about offers, event and updates from Evening Standard. Real Madrid have released a statement confirming they have no intention of pursuing a transfer for Chelsea midfielder Enzo Fernandez this summer. Fernandez has been heavily linked with a move away from Chelsea in recent months after a difficult season in which the Blues finished 10th in the Premier League and lost the FA Cup final to Manchester City. Chelsea are adamant that they have no intention of selling Fernandez and slapped a £120million price tag on the Argentine international to ward off potential interest. Madrid have been strongly linked with a move for Fernandez, who in March admitted he likes the Spanish capital, but the LaLiga giants have now come out publicly to emphatically deny suggestions they have already tried to sign the player - and insisted they do not intend to do so. "In response to the reports and comments that have appeared in recent days regarding Real Madrid C.F.'s alleged interest in signing Enzo Fernandez, the club wishes to state that it has not undertaken any action whatsoever, either directly or indirectly, aimed at signing the player,” read a statement released via their official website and social media channels.
