Man Utd Open Talks to Sign Manu Kone After Youri Tielemans

After Youri Tielemans Manchester United sprung a transfer surprise out of nowhere on Monday morning when it was confirmed that they had triggered the £35m release clause of Aston Villa midfielder Youri Tielemans. It was only a few days ago that we expected Man United to complete the signing of Atalanta midfielder Ederson after Brazil were knocked out of the 2026 World Cup by Norway, having agreed a fee with the Serie A outfit for his services before the tournament got underway. United had been very keen to bring Mateus Fernandes to the club prior to Tottenham Hotspur hijacking the move, but now they have landed Tielemans and Santos for a combined £85m, the same fee that Spurs paid to bring in the 21-year-old Portugal international from West Ham United. According to reports in Italy, United are preparing a bid to sign Manu Kone from AS Roma after turning their back on a move for Ederson. Having signed Andrey Santos and with Tielemans expected to join the Brazilian, it appears as though the Red Devils are still missing the midfield destroyer they need to replace Casemiro, following the expiry of his contract this summer.

Man Utd Could Make Surprise Late-Window Move for Ederson

Man Utd Could Make Surprise Late-Window Move for Ederson Manchester United could circle back to a transfer target later in the summer despite recent controversy. Michael Carrick came into this summer wanting two or three new midfielders, and Santos takes care of one of those spots, but more signings will be required, and Aston Villa's Youri Tielemans is being heavily linked. Atalanta star Ederson looked as though he would arrive on a deal worth close to £40million, but that deal was called off due to medical concerns from United. According to GIVEMESPORT sources, and corroborated by The Athletic's David Ornstein, United could try to sign Ederson again later in the window and look to dig deeper into the injury concerns in a bid to solving their worries. "They may look to revisit the situation later in the transfer window — efforts to strengthen Michael Carrick’s midfield go beyond Tielemans and the recent acquisition of Andrey Santos from Chelsea — although it is unclear if Atalanta and Ederson would do the same." It has been reported that they could offer Ederson a new contract now that he has returned, and they maintain that the player is fully fit and has no significant injury concerns. It will be interesting to see how he responds to a reported contract offer, and whether he accepts the offer will, of course, define whether United are even able to circle back for Ederson later this summer.

Liverpool in hunt to sign Joao Gomes as price tag revealed - Sources

Liverpool in hunt to sign Joao Gomes as price tag revealed - Sources Transfer Correspondent AUTHORITY Former Sky Sports and ESPN FC correspondent who specialises in global recruitment, contract negotiations, and high-velocity transfer breaking news. Liverpool are weighing up a move to sign Wolves midfielder Joao Gomes this summer, sources have told Football Insider. Gomes is keen to continue playing Premier League football, but is not understood to have a preference between a move to Liverpool or Manchester United, who are also big admirers. Football Insider revealed on Monday that Man United are ready to turn their attention towards Gomes after they get their move for Aston Villa's Youri Tielemans over the line. Their move for Tielemans comes as part of a major midfield rebuild at Old Trafford, with Andrey Santos already joining from Chelsea. Michael Carrick and Co. have designs on Gomes becoming the third and final addition of their central revamp, but they will have to fend off the interest from Liverpool. With Curtis Jones increasingly likely to move elsewhere in the coming weeks, the Merseysiders will need to replace him, and Gomes is seen as a cost-effective option.

'True Worth' - Club Boss Drops Transfer Hint Man Utd Target Manu Kone

'True Worth' - Club Boss Drops Transfer Hint Man Utd Target Manu Kone AS Roma boss Gian Piero Gasperini has been speaking about the future of a player Manchester United are said to be interested in. Michael Carrick was clear that he wanted to significantly improve the midfield, especially after losing Casemiro, and the signings of Andrey Santos and Youri Tielemans will certainly aid that. Roma boss Gasperini has been speaking to the Italian media, and he spoke about the future of Koné, who is attracting transfer attention having impressed in the France midfield. United could yet add a third midfielder this summer, with Carrick likely feeling as though he and the club are yet to replace the presence of Casemiro, who left at the end of his contract. Santos is a player who can play anywhere in the midfield but lacks experience, while Tielemans has all the experience and can control the rhythm of the whole game with the ball at his feet, but he lacks a defensive presence. Koné is a dynamic midfielder like Santos, able to play forward and back, but his busy approach lends itself well to breaking up attacks and playing that defensive role United may feel they need to improve. Manchester United are planning a £51 million bid to sign a new midfielder.

Update on Man Utd Move to Sign Manu Kone Emerges After Tielemans Deal

Update on Man Utd Move to Sign Manu Kone Emerges After Tielemans Deal Manchester United are looking to complete a third midfield signing in this transfer window, and Manu Kone is one of the stars who has been linked with a move. The Red Devils have completed three signings so far this summer, sealing a £50m agreement for Andrey Santos and triggering the £35m release clause of Youri Tielemans to strengthen their midfield, while Karl Darlow has arrived on a free transfer to add more experience to the goalkeeper department. Kone, who has shone for France at the World Cup as an understudy for Aurelien Tchouameni, has been heavily linked with a move away from AS Roma following his performances. United are reported to have made contact for the 25-year-old, but while appearing on the Talk of the Devils podcast for The Athletic, journalist Carl Anka revealed what he had been told about the club's reported interest. Carlos Baleba, Alex Scott, and Ayyoub Bouaddi have also been linked. It's clear that there is some interest in Kone from Old Trafford, but how far that interest stretches seems to be the main sticking point.

'There Was a Call' - Romano Says Man Utd Want France star Manu Kone

'There Was a Call' - Romano Says Man Utd Want France star Manu Kone Manchester United have come alive in the summer transfer window after snapping up two midfielders in the last week. The Red Devils have spent £86million to land Youri Tielemans and Andrey Santos after pulling out of a deal to sign Ederson due to medical concerns on the back of the World Cup. Michael Carrick came into the summer knowing he wanted to overhaul the midfield while replacing the presence that was Casemiro, and he has now made a significant start, but there may be more to come. According to transfer guru Fabrizio Romano, United have already asked about AS Roma and France midfielder Manu Koné. It's still early to indicate who is going to be the wanted player for Manchester United. France ended up coming up short in their World Cup bid, losing to Spain in the semi-finals on Tuesday, and Koné was questionably left on the bench.

Man United target Manu Kone blasted by French media after Spain humbling

He has been heavily linked with a move to Man United this summer as Michael Carrick aims to bolster his midfield options. Sources have revealed to Football Insider that Man United are interested in Joao Gomes as they look to add another midfielder to their ranks alongside new signings Andrey Santos and Youri Tielemans. Several midfielders remain on their radar, and Fabrizio Romano has claimed that the club have held talks with Kone's representatives but are yet to approach Roma over a move. United should now be able to accelerate a move for Kone following his exit, that is, if they still wish to after he struggled against Spain.

Man Utd Ready to Sign Crysencio Summerville in Bargain £30m Deal

Man Utd Ready to Sign Crysencio Summerville in Bargain £30m Deal Manchester United are now eyeing a bargain £30m move to sign West Ham United winger Crysencio Summerville this summer, although it hinges on one factor, according to the Guardian. After a quiet start to the summer transfer window, Man United chiefs have sprung into action this week by completing three deals, while U-turning on the agreement they had to sign Brazil international Ederson from Atalanta. The Red Devils decided after an issue with the midfielder's medical that they would pull out of a deal, with the club securing the signatures of Chelsea's Andrey Santos and Aston Villa's Youri Tielemans for £50m and £35m respectively this week. Karl Darlow has also moved to Old Trafford as the club's second-choice goalkeeper, with Andre Onana already re-joining Trabzonspor on loan and Altay Bayindir expected to leave this summer. United are still looking to bring in a third midfielder to join Santos and Tielemans after Manuel Ugarte suffered a serious knee injury at the 2026 World Cup with Uruguay, with the likes of French duo Manu Kone and Eduardo Camavinga, and Premier League pair Alex Scott and Carlos Baleba, among the names linked. While United have been linked with players like Morgan Rogers, Rafael Leao and Bazoumana Toure this summer, it appears as though Summerville remains a preferred target for the wing. GIVEMESPORT senior correspondent Ben Jacobs reported at the start of this month that United had opened club-to-club talks over a move for the Netherlands international, who announced himself on the global stage with some impressive performances, goals and assists at the World Cup. The Guardian report that the Red Devils are ready to make a move for the £30m-rated forward if Rashford leaves, with the England international currently due to report for pre-season training at Carrington after Barcelona decided to sign Anthony Gordon from Newcastle instead. While United and Rashford are said to have called a truce ahead of pre-season training with the 28-year-old no closer to securing a move away from Old Trafford, Red Devils chiefs are keen to offload him either permanently or on loan before the September 1 transfer deadline, according to the same report. Rashford still has two years remaining on his £17.5m-per-year contract, and United are keen to remove him from their wage bill like they did with Casemiro earlier in the summer.
